Destiny...friend tried to up sell the mmo aspect of it, because I am a long time WoW player. But I find it in both mmo and shooter aspects quite lacking for me.
I tried resuming with an old character. From what I can tell, they removed all lower-level areas you might have once used to level up an older character, and new ones would start at a higher level. Probably the most terrible implementation of power creep leading to the most abysmally unplayable returning user experience.
No they didn't :) The feature is called time walking. You have to talk to chromie in either Orgimmar or Stormwind. You can then choose which expansion to level through and change on how you feel where to level
Honestly, even if this is true, what staggers me is 1) That all of the Destiny 2 players I talked to somehow didn’t know about this, 2) That there’s no ingame guidance to point you to this since you literally can’t do anything else, and get forcibly booted into the first Lightborn mission on a return play.
Trying to join Destiny 2 as a newbie is a fucking nightmare without a friend there telling you exactly where to go and who to talk to. It's wild in a triple A game.
I'm kinda glad it exists though, as an MMO shooter. That's more interesting to me than cookie-cutter fantasy MMO with the same fight mechanics #238429104. And its melodrama is pretty fun.
