I still can't leave Reddit because its niche topics are too helpful, like /r/NoContract, where I did a bunch o' research on no-contract GSM carriers and as a result decided to flipflop between Mint Mobile, US Mobile, and T-Mobile's independent hotspot. I guess I ought to find a Lemmy instance that allows unrestricted creation of infinite communities, but am not sure of where to start.
I'm also still unsure about moving to Linux because of the loss of Windows-only programs like Cakewalk and AutoHotkey, even though Microsoft is worsening exponentially. For the latter, at least, I'd really need to buckle down and sink an hour or two into getting Python's
keyboard
module to work.I know it's not the same for sure, but I do highly recommend giving Ardour a shot if you have a spare computer that you can play with Linux on (or I think you can get it for Windows but it's not as simple as Linux.) I'm not sure what your use case for Cakewalk is, but I know for mine (straightforward recording and mixing) it works great!
Interesting, thanks!
