god what a relatable experience. right before christmas i literally split a tooth in half and while it wasn't a big deal to fix it (thankfully) the three-ish days i had to navigate around missing half of a tooth that grinds your food into something swallowable was supremely uncomfortable. i can't even feel the difference between the fake and real tooth and it still makes me paranoid it's just gonna happen again when i'm eating something, lol
Oh my goodness yes! I was just trying to enjoy some chicken nuggets that were apparently just a tad too crispy while watching Fringe... Didn't expect such a disaster!
I'm hoping I can opt for a crown instead of fillings to avoid it happening again, but I'm not too sure what factors into the determination of a filling vs a crown...
For now I suppose I'll just have to enjoy a lot of oatmeal, jello, and pudding lol
in my case it was pretty straightforward: hard candy. the unexpected part was that tooth had no outward indications of anything wrong with it--no pain, no cavities, nothing like that. just broke in half one day while i was chewing. i actually have a filling in it, and that's probably what saved the tooth from being completely fucked, but also took so much of the tooth out, lol.
to say the least i am a very fastidious brusher now, at least when i can remember it. i have 60 years of life ahead of me and it'd be nice to not fuck my teeth up now
I can definitely get that! Skittles are my "guilty pleasure" (I am not much of a chocolate person) but I haven't had them in a while since I get the feeling if I tried (especially since we're just getting out of the winter season over here, and the cold temperatures make them really hard lol) I'd probably lose quite a few teeth by the time I'm done with a small bag of them...
Occasionally I'll have the gummy versions of skittles, but its just not the same 😮💨
