Does this have a word? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago by Krik@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

Is there a (non-medical) word for the border/skin fold between butt and thigh?

I have a feeling there is one.

All the supermarkets seems to sell the same brands and I have no idea if any of them are mostly processed in Europe or elsewhere in the world.

Do you have recommendations? I like the ones with a fruity taste more.

This one is my current favorite:

That woman on the bull is Europa (Ancient Greek Εὐρώπη, Eurṓpē), daughter of the Phoenician king Agenor, lived about 2000 BCE. The bull is the shapeshifted Zeus that is kidnapping Europa. They had sex and sired Minos, king of Crete. Minos is the one who feed the Minotaur by sending children into its labyrinth.

Yeah Greek mythology is weird.

Licking oneself or others for the purpose of grooming or maintenance.

Good luck trying to enforce that. Most people lick a small wound on their hands an fingers. It's our subconscious that triggers that.

The mighty US of A needs NATO to invade an island with 56,000 inhabitants?

Is Wakanda located on that island or what?

An alternative is plain old school irc. I'm not kidding.
Connect to irc.irchighway.net then /j #ebooks then !search <author and/or title>
Receive search results via xdcc which gives you the commands to download that stuff.
Or query one of the bots (e. g. @bsk) and get a list of hundreds of thousands of books that are available and search that for what you want.

I prefer that over ad infested one click hosters with countdowns, link shortener cascades and captchas. I find and get the stuff much faster by using irc.

Hi fellow selfhosters!

What hostnames do you use for your systems and services?
And maybe why if it's an interesting story.

I'll start:
Steam Deck: krax
Smartphone: krix (once I get LineageOS installed again)
MiniPC: krux
Reserved for future use: krex & krox

Creative, I know. 😅 The names have no deeper meaning. The x comes from Linux. That's it.

I know some of you use god names of certain pantheons, such as Thor. But I find that boring as a lot of people are doing that.

Now let your pants down and tell me all about

your embarrassing host names!

MMO mouse for linux? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Krik@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/linux@lemmy.ml

Hi!

I'm looking for an inexpensive MMO mouse (that's a mouse with way more that five buttons) that's fully supported by Linux.

That also means there's some kind of tool that lets me configure what all the extra buttons do.
For example I want to map Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V and virtual desktop switching to the mouse buttons.

But honestly it's difficult to find any such mouse.
I stumbled upon this link and there are several mouses listed. The first place isn't on sale anymore. It was also way to expensive. The second place has this rubber coating that dissolves in disgusting black paint after a year or two. The article also mentioned 8 programmable buttons but the mouse only has 6 and 7 button variants. The third one doesn't have enough buttons. And so on.

Is there a site/place where I can search and compare mouses with lots of buttons that has a configuration/mapping tool running on Linux?

I first thought to reach out to a mouse/periphery/hardware community but chose not to do it. Most people do not use Linux so answers from them won't be as helpful as yours.

Thank you for your time!

But Amazon has no problems with the sale of adult toys? Hypocrites!

It just popped up in my mind.

  • You could decorate any room as you like. You don't even need to step out of it most of the times.
  • Other people can be projected inside it like Voyager's doctor.
  • Also rooms could be much smaller. They only need to be big enough a human(oid) can fit inside.
  • In emergency cases most holograms can be shut off to match increased energy demands by weapons and shields. You only really need seating/bed and a (non-exploding) console screen.
  • Much of the specialized rooms like a bar, med bay, etc. won't be needed anymore as a holodeck can imitate all of them.

It irritated me a bit that a Discovery gets fancy floating warp nacelles but holodecks are... wait, does Discovery has a holodeck? I don't remember seeing one.

Moin zusammen,

While I don't think it's possible to revoke his citizenship it might be possible to try him for treason against 'his' country.

Germany will probably get a centrist-right (CDU/CSU) government with a centrist-left junior partner (SPD).
Centrist-right is far left in US terms.

I expect stagnancy in German politics for the next 4 years. -_-

There will be a price to pay for past decisions

Yeah, that price is that no sane economy will invest in Russia as long as they are scum. They have proven that they don't care about contracts, sovereignty, territorial borders and human dignity.

Clothes made in Germany (www.trigema.de)
  • 100% made in Germany
  • uses yarn from Germany and Europe
  • uses cotton from Germany, Austria and a certified family business in Turkey
  • environment-friendly and sustainable production
  • you can book a factory tour to see for yourself how they produce their stuff
  • their products are not that much more expensive because they last much longer

I (only) have one shirt by them. I was a test buy and it worked out. After several washes that shirt is still in good shape. The shirts from the far east would be too damaged to wear by now.

In university we were taught C programming. We started with simple things like loops and stuff. After a while the topic processes, threads & stuff came up and of course we were instructed to use that.

In the computer lab there where only thin clients so everything actually ran on the server.

A good friend of mine - not know what was about to happen - entered:

while (true) {
    fork();
}

Astoundingly it took a whole minute until the server froze. 🤣
That was the same server most of the school stuff ran on. So nearly everything went down. 😂
He got scolded by the sysadmin the next day but nothing serious happened.

Hahahahahaha. Doesn't he realize that the original Nazis would have refused to call him a human? They'd call him ape just because he's black.

Anyways don't travel to Europe with that shirt. You'll get beaten or jailed the moment you step out of the plane.

Hi!

I'm looking for books about mages, wizards and witches in which the magic itself is a central part of the story and not just there so the MC can slam a fireball into the face of his foes.
Maybe the magic has a will of its own or the MC is trying to 'restore' it from some kind of 'disease' or something else.

I don't know whats going on. This post currently has 44 comments.

I would like to to continue using the default web ui (the first one). I like it the most. But it's the one that somehow doesn't loading everything and I don't know why.

Is there a bug?
