They're really burying the lede here. The closing paragraphs of the article:

The woman added that once, when she was 18, Leto “suddenly pulled his penis out and started masturbating”. She told the outlet: “Then he walked over, grabbed my hand, and put it on him. He leaned in and said: ‘I want you to spit on it.’”

Another woman, Allie Teilz, a Los Angeles-based DJ and music producer, last month on Instagram reposted a 2012 Facebook status in which she had said: “Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat,” Air Mail reported.

In her Instagram stories, which Air Mail reviewed, Teilz said: “I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17 … He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.”

From the video description:

The Deepest Games are DUMB. How is it possible that this generation of game developers, who are clearly articulate and educated, be so obsessed with the idea of creating deep meaningful games, and yet consistently produce games that are shallow and automated? Also, why does it seem impossible for the depth of the games of the past to be re-created? There clearly isn't any technological barrier, so what is the problem?

One of the major problems that I discuss in today's video is the obsession modern developers have with making smart games and being perceived as these masters of human psychology and technology. Where this stems from is hard to know for sure, but there is clearly a trend of developers being able to find the areas of their game that contain the potential for depth, and then systematically eliminating them. Ironically a lot of these areas are labeled as "outdated" but what I think developers and reviewers really mean to say is dumb. No one would argue pixel art is outdated. No one would argue that Mario 3 and their favorite Super Nintendo games are outdated. What they mean is that these games are presenting the player true punishment and no smartly devised system to go around the punishment.

Trying to monetize the piracy of your users. That's a bold business strategy.

Look, I know a lot of people could be using the sharing feature to share material that is in the public domain or that they own the copyright to, but let's be honest: most of that sharing would be considered an "unlicensed public performance" by the MAFIAA.

Also, they track website visitors without them even clicking the button. Just loading the "share" icon from the social media website allows them to see that you are reading that specific article, and if they recognise your IP or can fingerprint your browser then they can tie it to your social media account (advertising profile).

I would like to switch away from Apple Music, and Spotify despite being a European company, is not a desirable option for me. What music streaming services would you recommend?

I managed to download a text-only list of the albums in my Apple Music library, so if there's a simple library import option then that would also be very helpful.

Instead of making a unilateral decision on behalf of all of the members of this community without any kind of consultation, why don't you move to L.W and allow people who do want to be here, who do want to be subject to the moderation rules of this instance, to step in and take the reins?

I say unlock the community and appoint a new mod team. Who said you could just close the whole community, just because you've volunteered to take out the trash?

This breach is worse than just a website's database being leaked. These are info-stealer malware logs. Meaning that you had malware on one of your devices that recorded you typing your credentials into websites and then the logs of that malware were publicly leaked.

Before changing all of your passwords (and setting up a password manager if you don't already use one) you need to identify which of your devices was compromised and wipe it.

If you change all your passwords from the compromised device then the malware will just record all of your new passwords.

It was more than just a special icon for a folder, it had special behaviour too. Without looking it up (in the spirit of the meme), I seem to remember that it would automatically sync the files any time that you insert the floppy disk, kind of like having Dropbox but without the internet. The idea being that you would have files on your computer that you could take with you somewhere else (in your briefcase, on a floppy disk) and all instances of that briefcase would automatically sync the latest updates of the files without you having to manually copy them and work out which was the latest version of a file.

XMPP did not exist on its own outside of nerd circles, while ActivityPub enjoys the support and brand recognition of Mastodon.

Jabber was widely used in the early 2000s and not just among "nerds." But Rochko would have only been 7+ years old at the time so how would he know that.

The "brand recognition of Mastodon" part makes me think this has to be a joke... right?
