You could use Synctrain or maybe Möbius Sync to SyncThing-sync a folder with your phone, then use Strongbox or KeePassium or any other KeePass-compatible app to work with the file?

[-] mbirth@lemmy.ml 4 points 14 hours ago

I'm using Strongbox on macOS and iOS. Uses a KeePass2 database in the background, does TOTP (so does KeePassXC), syncs via iCloud (but also supports SFTP, WebDAV, OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox) and also keeps my Passkeys. And it supports Apple's AutoFill API, so it works in basically any input field across the systems and feels "native". No browser extensions (at least for Safari) needed.

And if it goes rogue, I can switch to e.g. KeePassium or any other KeePass-compatible app.

Pushover for notifications. Paid a very small amount a decade ago. Works reliably ever since. And for monitoring I'm using Zabbix.

You could also think about moving to Gemini or even Gopher. Using some web proxy like kineto you could still make the pages available via HTTP (looks like this).

I had looked into GRAV which is not quite suited for blogging (i.e. date-based posts) but rather for wiki-like content or a simple page structure. Also, they're also feeling more and more enterprisey, especially with their recent 2.x release.

Tried Serendipity but found it to be more or less on life-support.

And finally settled on a very basic WordPress with only a handful of plugins (all set to auto-update), most importantly SQLite and ActivityPub. Backups are a simple copy of all the files or just the SQLite db. The Gutenberg post format in the SQLite db is easy enough to convert it to anything else using a small custom Python script should need be. I don't remember how I imported my existing posts, though. Might've been via RSS import.

How else is Mrs. von der Leyen supposed to sue people that speak badly about EU politicians?

There was a similar news article in Germany a few days ago. It was about a "pick-up artist/dating coach/influencer" named Erick Ronaldo secretly filming some girl at the Oktoberfest and posting it to his channel where that girl was ridiculed in the comments. (Fun fact: when the news media approached that guy and asked for a statement, he demanded $7,500 for an interview - which they, of course, didn't pay)

While looking for some alternatives to Swiftfin and Infuse, I've found these:

Reefy - mentioned here / GitHub
Fork of Swiftfin as the author was fed up with the lack of updates.
$8.99 one-time IAP

JellyTV - Homepage
£1.99/month, £29.99/year (looks like there's a discounted option at £14.99/year), or £39.99 for life.

The maths is not quite mathing here as the for-life IAP is £39.99, the familiy upgrade is another £39.99 which makes £79.98 total

but the "family-for-life" option is £89.99 for some reason. (Makes you wonder whether this was vibe-coded.)

Neptune - Homepage
Currently in beta and you need to ask on their Discord for the Testflight link.

Has anyone tried any of these?

A few weeks ago, FortNine announced that they did a feature film about breaking the circumnavigation record. The movie is supposed to release today - 27 Dec.

Here's the link to buy/watch it for $9.99: https://fortnine1.vhx.tv/

(Download should be possible, too.)

I can't see any mention of the feature being delayed. I'm on the iOS 26 RC, I'm on an iPhone 16 Pro with Apple Intelligence, and my AirPods Pro 2 are on the latest beta firmware 8A343a. So, I believe it should work. (As per Apple's availability overview.) Yet I don't see any option to enable it in Settings or in the iOS Translation app.

Has anyone figured it out yet?

This vulnerability made it possible to collect user data simply by knowing someone’s email address or phone number.

Another example of where it pays off to have separate email addresses/aliases for every website/service you use.

“European Starlink rival” is a bit far fetched when there’s merely rumours that they might be able to offer a similar service. But that’s the stock market for you.

Now with Trakt doing their best to get rid of their non-paying users, I'm looking for self-hosted alternatives to track my movie/show catalog and my progress in watching it.

So far, I've found:

  • devfake/flox - the original, hasn't been updated in 5 years
  • Simounet/flox - fork of flox - started further development early 2024, added ActivityPub, reviews and some more features
  • MediaTracker - "highly inspired by flox" and also tracks books and computer games

These all come with (one-way) Plex integration to track what you're watching.

Before trying all the other ones mentioned in MediaTracker's README - is anybody using one of those already? Or some similar product?

EDIT: Suggestions from this thread:

The fear of naked (intact) female bodies, i.e. censoring of even the slightest nudity, when at the same time, it’s totally fine to have minors play computer games where they can dissect other humans in great bloody detail.

Oh, and chocolate that tastes like somebody barfed into it during manufacturing.

Have they not heard of the TS100 or the Pinecil?

Both run an open-source firmware and work with any USB-C PD battery pack and still allow you to configure the temperature.
