I lost a lot of weight, and I am so happy. This is my go to. My default meals for the next couple of months and currently go like this.

Breakfast: Eggs + Sardines (when I have them) + Barley mixed with blueberries and kefir.

Lunch/Dinner (1 of the 2): Sardines (when I have them), stewed chicken (thigh or breast) with greens (spinach) made with either birds eye or jalapeno chillis + buttermilk with blueberries for dessert.

I just got off lentils which I was on for months after the bloat/gas became too much to handle. Simple food rules.

Do you usually stick to one brand or do you mix it up?

[-] nicgentile@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

Dang. Yeah, half the guys in the snobbery are usually poor tastemakers. Critics don't make good movies.

That is generally the usual idea with big brand coffees, I think. I don't want to say generic, but generic and likeable.

I've never tried illy. Will be on the lookout for it. Thanks for the tip.

I would bet good money half of the connoisseurs have wooden tongues and fake it.

I agree. Very likeable. But I can't see myself with a bag. How does the Oro go down? I've been seeing ads about it, but didn't pay them any attention.

My brother-in-law made me a coffee snob. So, he surprised me with this Lavazza Espresso. I honestly thought it would taste like "Welcome Centre" coffee, but it was not bad. Sweet, oily, and quite easy to enjoy. But, it's just one of those things where I would only buy it if there were not many other choices.

Pointless fun fact with name drop, cause I am the main character right now, the cappuccino cup I am using came as a set, that was a gift from retired NBA player Danillo Gallinari. They were two, one fell and broke when I was in Texas. I have it in a box and will super glue it together some day. Also included were two espresso cups that I've never used.

My third bag of coffee is Java House Espresso. Now, the person who picked this for me recommended it for its sweet non-offensive taste. That is there. Sweet, nice body, a nice house coffee. The caramel and chocolate taste carry strong here. Its smell dankish but that isn't all bad. Definitely a keeper.

My day starts with this. Now, I'm a fan of Java, they make good house coffees, nice caffeine content and this one is exactly like that. Its a medium roast with a good kick. Its fruity but not strong fruity. I guess their attempt to mix up three country blends will do that. Would buy again, but as a pure house coffee.

After my first batch of Kenyan coffee, a friend of a friend travelled to Kenya and brought me back more coffee.

Artcaffē is a brand of coffee houses based in Kenya and they make coffee too.

This is some seriously good coffee. It comes across as spicy, a bit acidic in a good way, dark chocolate flavour comes in strong, very pleasant smell in the house, the roast in the packet is thick, and it makes for a nice house coffee. Its a shame I got it ground, and not in bean form, but that does not take away from the flavour at all.

This is a coffee I will always try and get. A long term keeper.

I'm looking for an IBM Power8 S822(L) or equivalent for other brands. Which are the better refurbished stores for these?

Thanks.

From my brother in law's holiday, he got this and I tried it. Dang, this is really good coffee. The honey and pineapple come in strong, and sweet and it has some kick to it. I underestimated it, but things got real very quickly. Would most definitely recommend this and I will happily take a second cup and stay up all night buzzing.

My brother in law went on holiday to Kenya and brought me back some coffee.

Now, this is a nice house coffee. I've drank it before, so not my first rodeo. I do like the taste, it actually sticks to the tasting notes for a change. More so the blackcurrant, but you do need to go a bit deep with the spoon to get it out there. Feels a bit weak to be honest, which comes as no surprise.

I will enjoy drinking this.

A lesson I learnt came from a fitness guy I watched. He said, missing out one day happens. Shit happens. Missing out 2 days is a choice.

I couldn't go out yesterday cause a storm came through. So I did 2 times what I normally do. I don't know if the effects will pan out, but at least I can say I did not slouch. I am ~3lbs away from my desired weight.

Imusa moka pot (lemmy.nz)
submitted 3 months ago by nicgentile@lemmy.world to c/coffee@lemmy.world

I bought the Imusa moka pot in Walmart, my first, and I have learnt that I should not have gone economy on this. Its indeed affordable, works, but, its small, single serve, and just feels economy. Biggest pain is the plastic handle that will definitely get ruined cause of being cooked over heat. The manual says not to put it over heat, which is where the moka pot works. Lol. Sucks, but i am espresso cool.

Trying this today, purely for the caffeine content. Made it with my new moka pot. I've moved on from the cowboy sieve method, and to be honest, that pushes out a much cleaner kick.

The coffee itself tastes OK, not the worst out there, beats FDC hands down, and I definitely overloaded the moka pot, but I can see how this becomes an enjoyable cup. I would definitely buy this again.

I've been walking 4.5 miles a day, 5 days a week since Jan 2nd. As of today, I have lost ~53 pounds, gone from being pre-diabetic to normal levels, lost my entire wardrobe in the process, and finally my Vans died. They have been loyal a.f.

Glad they helped me on this journey to better health.

I'm beginning to accept that I may never be in a relationship again. There are life expectations I have for myself, some admittedly selfish, but really, the idea of having to deal with another grownup who is as obstinate as I am has left me disillusioned about relationships. But I want to have kids. I want to be a father. For women, its fairy easy, go to a sperm bank, pick your choice, get the procedure done and you are on your way. What is the process for dudes? I believe its going to involve a surrogate, but where does one get a donor egg and what not? I am not looking to have a relationship with an egg donor or the surrogate, just me and the kids.

To me, I think they have spent years and years coordinating (not just in Germany) with other right-wing parties, tried and tested propaganda mechanics, nailed the language, the target audience, sold the product properly and their target audience responded. The majority of voters who take to this are individuals who often feel disenfranchised by minorities (including immigrants), have limited (if any) tertiary education so they are not critical thinkers, have been led to believe that their current status is because of other forms of government and people not of our liking, and not their lack of education, skillsets etc and so on. This has been used very well in other regions including Africa (Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Senegal), South America (see Colombia incoming, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia), Asia (India, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Thailand) and so on.

Civic education left the building a long time ago and is no longer encouraged.

In a twisted way, Trump is inadvertently trying hard to prove that more guns in the hands of untrained people with no background checks are a bad idea, something NRA was hoping to keep down. The cat is out of the bag now.

Anyway, fight girls.

Her logic is, "I was a bad neglectful parent so now you must pay." Nonsense.

Twitter/Reddit.

I was all in. Quit Twitter around 2015 when it started getting ultra toxic. Quit Reddit when 3rd party apps were killed.
