AI can speed up a lot of the manual labour needed to bring even an almost dead, 10-year-old device back to life. My Xiaomi Mi Max 2 (oxygen, MSM8953) was dead. With AI help and my own knowledge, I ported/rewrote the missing drivers, and it now runs Nura (postmarketOS) with working camera, torch, SIM, phone calls and SMS. Only the loudspeaker is still broken.

Everything is up for anyone who wants to install it, or to understand the changes and manually write the patches for mainline: https://github.com/sv1sjp/mi-max2-oxygen-msm8953-nura-drivers Testing, feedback and PRs welcome.

Ported/rewrote the missing drivers for the Mi Max 2 (oxygen, MSM8953) with AI help. Camera and phone calls both work now. Only the loudspeaker is still broken.

πŸ”“ Most organizations have some layer of legacy technology still running in production. Old binaries, orphaned tools, systems whose original developers and documentation are long gone. These legacy applications still increase the attack surface. AI can change what's feasible here.

One clear example: Adobe Flash. Thousands of internal dashboards, training modules, and business tools were built on it and never migrated when it was deprecated. To address this, I built an AI skill that decompiles, analyzes, and rewrites legacy Flash applications into modern HTML5 and JavaScript, without requiring the original source.

Ideal for legacy end-of-life software that's still being used, with no one left to maintain or migrate it.

Just released GeoTag Photos, a Nextcloud Files plugin to add, read, or remove geolocation metadata from photos in one click.

This tool works both ways: inspect or add location metadata during investigations, visualize where photos were taken via Nextcloud Maps/Memories, or scrub it before sharing sensitive files, all self-hosted, without third parties.

Just released #BurpAnonymizer, a Burp Suite extension that redacts PII, credentials, tokens and other sensitive data from HTTP requests/responses.

With one click, safely share requests and responses in reports, presentations, team reviews, or AI workflows, without exposing secrets and minimizing manual redactions.

I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 and I am literally streaming 4K VR videos on my Meta Quest 2 without any problem at all, I can't understand how you can have these problems without misconfiguring something

Well in Greece this year, the olive oil is very expensive. I am not sure about Spain but I believe that they are facing similar issues.

Thank you guys for your awesome work!

Also to other people: DONATE TO FOSS PROJECTS. If 50.000 people donate only 0.5€, we have 25.000€ for funding the servers, coding, motivating/ people etc. Just don't take a cup of coffee for 1 day. We are already 2 millions in Lemmy instances. We can build a decentralized world together!!

Joplin. Organise your notes into notebooks and you can also write them in markdown. You can also save your notes encrypted and syhcronise them with the cloud to have them in all of your devices. Joplin is available in all Operating Systems. Also supposts Nextcloud so it can be self-hosted!
