I'm an experienced SSE and I'm about to hunt for a new job for the first time in a few years. I've so far been able to avoid most AI use, with the exception of testing out some code completion with copilot a couple years ago.

Basically every job listing I'm seeing expects some level of AI adoption ("we'll set you up with either Claude or Copilot, so much choice!") so I figured it's time.

What's the best way to get an intro to these tools? I'm curious how people are actually using them in their workflows successfully. I want to give it a fair shake and form my first-hand opinion on these things as tools.

A social media influencer in Mexico was shot dead Tuesday night while streaming live on the site Kick, with viewers watching the event in real time, authorities said.

Cesar Gastelum, 25, was livestreaming outside a KFC in Culiacan, the capital city of Sinaloa state, around 8 p.m. local time when he was attacked. He was accompanied by two friends and dressed as a food delivery worker as part of a challenge.

Gastelum, who had nearly 600,000 followers on TikTok and was known for making comedy videos, was approached by two individuals riding a motorcycle, both wearing helmets. According to a clip from the livestream, the rider appeared to shoot a gun right at Gastelum.

I built a service whose primary client is a CLI program. I was thinking about building that client for Windows as well (not just WSL). My target users are generally technically-proficient so I'd rather not build a whole GUI app if it's unnecessary. But I honestly have no idea how often Windows users use CLI tools beyond some Windows admin stuff.

So if Windows is your daily driver, how often do you leverage the shell and how unusual would it be to use CLI tools in your workflows?

I built this because it's something I wanted to use for personal documentation and note taking, as well as learning more about and getting used to Rust.

I'm pretty guilty of using meat as a crutch in most of my cooking. I'd love to hear about some good meals for inspiration. Ideally things that aren't made to imitate/replace meat but exist well on their own.
