I flew out though Wellington last week, and was told I could keep my laptop in my bag, no doubt due to the new CT scanners.

I know Auckland has these at the International terminal, but have they reached domestic yet? where else in the country?

I flew domestic from Wellington this morning and was still required to take out laptops - though this was Jetstar.

Weird. I had my laptop out and the AvSec lady said “ you don’t need to do that anymore “

I haven't flown domestic from Wellington since last year, when I did it a few times, and I don't recall ever going through anything resembling security (except checked bags). I recall someone talking about upcoming changes, do they do security checks/bag scanning for domestic now?

The three cities that I fly though a lot ( Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch) always have full screening to each other. No screening flying to regional airports though.

Ah that will be it, I'm only ever flying to the regional ones.

Not NZ but Aus we have them in the Darwin airport, they're amazing.

However Qantas Q tags can't be used here anymore. No idea what's happening there haha

So after traveling this week, yes I had to take out the laptop leaving Auckland, but leaving Christchurch they wanted laptops in your bag and had signs up to that effect.
