Since there's 2 anti-gratitude threads, I guess I'll do a second gratitude thread (it's all about balance):
- I'm alive I guess
- I'll fill this in later

Got Christmas plans sorted for the first time in years. Despite me saying "Im not flying with a toddler! they wanna see us they can come here" I'm apparently flying with a toddler. Sadly someone has to come back early to watch the dogs as the pet sitter only works to the 28th or something, so tragically I think I'm gonna end up with a few nights alone which hasnt happened since the birth of Tinyest. Pretty excited!

Anti-gratitude thread
Fell asleep super late last night listening to a podcast. The podcast was good but I slept too late. It was called You Probably Think This Story's About You.
Also, despite putting on a sleep timer, I end up extending the listening beyond that without setting another one, and before you know it, I've listened to two other podcasts in my sleep.
I'll move mine here since my thread failed.
I feel unmotivated today even though I slept early.
I've eaten too much not so nice cake already and I spilt coffee grind all over the table and floor at work and it was so hellish to clean up.
Also failing at doing an Anti Gratitude thread today.
First world problem: I thought I could get away with cooking up leftover rice and pairing it with a can of tuna but because my fridge is full of veg I have to cook some of them so I can fit my beer in there for Friday.
work gloves have been obtained
Maybe I'm finally out of this thing 🤞 Not much coughing, not quite as congested or lethargic, sinus tension is minor and mood feels positive. Was so fed up with being in one place that I've given the kitchen counters and sink a good clean (incl grotty stove top - not cleaned for a month), and vacuumed the place (nearly two weeks overdue).
Ah, cleanliness! Health! Healing! I feel much more deserving of dinner and a movie now ☺️ Just need to have a nice warm shower and pick something to watch... Been on a Robin Williams streak as I haven't watched that many of his movies. Day before yesterday was The Birdcage and The World According to Garp. Last night I watched Awakenings, maybe I'll watch The Fisher King tonight. Before anyone says it, I recall watching What Dreams May Come before he passed away and I am NOT watching it again for fear my entire sinus will come undone.
Punishment for cleaning the stove top... out of nowhere all the ignitors have started clicking. Turned it off at the source. Am supposed to wait 24-48 hours before trying again. I hope something hasn't completely shorted because this is the worst possible timing to not have a stove available, I just finished up the last of my food in the fridge... guess it's air fryer chips and fish and blanched greens for dinner tomorrow.
Gratitude thread
Grateful the 6am wakeup starts next week.
The free food market had some porterhouse steak, so dinner is going to be yummy.
My new (to me) sewing machine arrived today, and looks in perfect condition.
Grateful for friends who call for a chat. And my fluffy lunatic cat.
o washing day o washing day, I've finished washing clothesies
Today's replacement thing is a 5TB external hard drive that was stolen. I bought the first one not long before I moved out of the last place. The plan was for it to tide me over until I purchased the parts to build a custom NAS, which I was meant to do before I moved in here, but never did..... I actually did buy a motherboard from overseas for it, but I never bought any of the other components lmao, so I just have a motherboard sitting in a drawer. I don't even know if it's functional, because I obviously don't have the rest of the components to test it with.
Interestingly, the Australia Post app told me it was a 2.5kg 60x55x32cm parcel, and I was very confused because the only thing I was expecting from JB Hi-fi was the single hard drive. When it arrived it was more like a 20x15x10cm package, that the sticker says weighs 0.34kg (dimensions just a guess though, I don't know how to eyeball measurements). They did post it in a toll (or "team express global" as they call themselves now) bag with an auspost sticker taped over it though, so maybe AP was just shitty at them 😂
But this is the last thing I think is coming this week, because interestingly both the program manager and my case manager have been MIA since Monday. No contact or out of office auto response on their emails. It's odd. I think this is the last thing from my list they ordered, and they wanted to drag their feet on ordering things. Maybe I need to escalate this to the regional manager again
So writing to the manufacturer of the pizza with a bolt.
Here's what we have so far:
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to inform you that I recently bought a pizza manufactured by your company at Leos Fine Food and Wine in Kew, 3101 on 22/07/24 which contained a 1.5cm x 5mm metal bolt (pictured in the attached). It need not be explained the risks of finding a foreign object like a metal bolt in food.
It is my hope that you bolster the servicing and upkeep of the equipment in use to ensure this doesn’t happen again to other customers.
Kind regards.
In plain language... that shit is gonna send peeps to the dentist buy a screwdriver and a torch.
