A GOP lawmaker on Tuesday introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris over her handling of the southern border, as Republicans lay into the new Democratic presidential candidate in the days after President Joe Biden stepped down from the campaign trail.

Every move the last couple days is showing that the republicans are terrified of a Harris battle

They are flailing around like a blind man in a boxing ring. They are completely unprepared for this turn of events and in a freefall panic.

I'm just a little surprised they are so unprepared and shitting their drawers. Their panic makes them look very weak and scared. It's pretty clear the idea of someone stepping down for the good of their party or country is completely alien to Trump.

It's awesome, because all of their grumbling, hearings, lawsuits, etc will just push the Harris name in the media. Biden played his trump card.

And here I was, pissed at the Democratic party for not having a transition plan after such a big fuss skipping the primary. Good thing the other side was even less prepared

How did we get here?

Well that and I think they know trump is absolutely incapable of focusing for more than 30 seconds.

[-] ZapBeebz_@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

I saw a theory earlier that seems a little too plausible...trump is far enough down the dementia hole that he actually can't grasp that he isn't facing Biden any more, and that's a big part of the panic. Their candidate can't remember who he is running against.

Wow, that'd be bonkers, I really think mental fitness should be on the qualifiers for running. I get once they're in it being a fine line, but while running it's deceptive to the American people to hide health issues.

All that means is there’s something new to be brought every 30 seconds

Also, 39 seconds? Feeling generous, are we?

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 155 points 2 years ago

I'm gonna say it. I was wrong. I thought Joe could eke it out but Harris is absolutely sending the GOP into a tailspin.

[-] citrusface@lemmy.world 66 points 2 years ago

Yeah I've changed my tune real quick - Kamala has my vote bc I'm digging her coming out fucking swinging. I was voting for Biden, but I am fucking VOTING for Kamala.

[-] aniki@lemmy.zip 29 points 2 years ago

That's what I've been saying. I was voting against Trump but now I'm voting for Harris.

[-] Sanctus@lemmy.world 131 points 2 years ago

They have to impeach everyone because Trump got impeached.

[-] uberdroog@lemmy.world 52 points 2 years ago

It's the saddest thing to watch and we ALL know.

I know you are, but what am I?

[-] Lightor@lemmy.world 88 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yah, impeach her! Also I really hope those Dems stop weaponizing the legal system. So immoral. Just like Hunter Biden, they should put him in jail! The whole Biden crime family.

  • Unironically most Republicans.

Fun fact: technically, the Vice President would preside over their own Senate trial.

[-] DrWeevilJammer@lemmy.ml 18 points 2 years ago

That would be awesome, but I'm pretty sure the Chief Justice would preside over that trial

[-] simplejack@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

Fuck it. Say I’ll recuse myself if you retry several of the past ruling and have the Alito and Thomas recuse themselves.

[-] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 11 points 2 years ago

Why? What happens if she dismisses the case? They impeach again? Hmmm...

[-] norimee@lemmy.world 69 points 2 years ago

They are soo desperate.

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 63 points 2 years ago

They're scared

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 45 points 2 years ago

Harris has not responded to the resolution….

Honestly, I hope she doesn’t respond to this or other accusations. No need to waste her time or effort on bullshit.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 43 points 2 years ago

Watch them flail.

They're back to being the party of Four Seasons Lawn Care. And all it took was a better candidate.

I'm glad Biden and the party more broadly listened. They should listen more often.

[-] Cosmos7349@lemmy.world 36 points 2 years ago

wat? Let me get this 🐘 logic straight: Joe Biden is not fit to be president, therefore file articles of impeachment against Kamala Harris?

[-] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 29 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It’s like when a group of dissidents from Saudi Arabia flew planes into the World Trade Center and President Cheney and also mini-Bush were like, “Let’s bomb Iraq!”

[-] Yawweee877h444@lemmy.world 22 points 2 years ago

This is just too much fun. It's so obvious how weak and childish they are, with these silly and desperate tactics. Trump is doomed.

[-] JimSamtanko@lemm.ee 22 points 2 years ago

Why is it legal for these fucking clowns to waste taxpayer money on this bullshit?

[-] Phenomephrene@thebrainbin.org 12 points 2 years ago

They're going to have to fit a couple more impeachments into the next four months if they want Harris to be more impeached than Trump. That's presuming this current attempt goes anywhere, which hahahahaha!

[-] JaymesRS@literature.cafe 5 points 2 years ago

The GOP in the house this last term:

oprah meme with the text 2 times “And YOU get an impeachment”

[-] AA5B@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I swear, they really want “Laughing Kamala” to be everywhere. Take their pitiful attempt and run with it
