Oof. I would definitely be complaining to the ACCC over that, as well as directly to Woolies. Straight-up dishonest marketing.

Let us know how they respond!

That’s Mexico, Australia.

Ngl Mexstralia sounds sick. I'd go there. Bet they'd have cheap booze

Mexstralia, where the drug wants to kill you

[–] eatham@aussie.zone 10 points 2 months ago

That is straight up scamming, you should complain to the ACCC, I doubt they will do shit but if enough people complain they might.

So there is a strain of garlic known as Australian garlic and they grow it in Mexico. Just like an Australian Shepherd that was bred in the US?

There’s literally an Aussie Grown garlic in the adjacent container? The one you’re holding is the imported one from an adjacent section.

There’s plenty to shame Woolies over, but this ain’t one. SMH.

I'm fully aware of that but that is a completely different product. The sign clearly says "3 pk" which is what I'm holding. That "Australian Grown" garlic that you can see in the background was a bag of peeled cloves - not the same item.

There's clearly a second price sign, and you will often see two signs for things next to each other like this. The Aussie grown doesn't say three pack either.

I hate to be that guy but are you 100% sure that there isn't another price tag for the one you're holding. It seems like the Australian price tag is attached to the Australian grown garlic basket. Someone might have just picked up the Mexican grown one and then changed their mind and put it back in the wrong place

[–] philip@aussie.zone 1 points 2 months ago

They were all like that and this was the only garlic product there with 3 in a pack. Perhaps they were mislabelled. I'm going to go back to this supermarket and get some clarification.

Do they mean packed in Australia?

Go easy on ol' mate Woolies, this is an easy mistake to make...the I key is very close to the A key!
