Lol, that cat showbag I got yesterday had a pack of Hills Science Diet sachets, turkey and liver casserole. It's the first time I've seen Mickey eat it all - usually he licks up all the gravy and leaves some of the meat bits with the Dine sachets,, but nup, he ate up all of Hills.

Hills it is Mickey, you fickle furrball

Iโ€™m a learner gardener and have inadvertently bumped off more plants than I care to admit. Despite this, these orchids have been going strong for about 15 years, so thought Iโ€™d show them off

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

They are beautiful!

Beautiful! I love cymbidium orchids.

I slipped and fell last night right on my bum and today my tailbone / sacrum is definitely bruised. Good excuse for a lazy day but I can't help wondering at what ages does one go from "fell over" to "had a fall".... ๐Ÿง“

I don't know, but a couple of weeks ago I turned my head slightly the wrong way and had to go the physio lol

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

You are old when you have a fall and end up with a broken hip and in hospital lol

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Tripped over something, stepped on something slippery etc. = "fell over"

Ended up on the ground because you can no longer balance while standing without something to hold on to = "had a fall"

Iโ€™m still struggling both physically and mentally. Forcing myself to do stuff is backfiring and causing a lot of stress. But the alternative is to just do nothing? Indefinitely?

Iโ€™ve inexpertly taken the soil samples and only just remembered - even if they come back safe I might not use the soil because thereโ€™s the cat poo to consider.

When I adopted Melbcat she was an outdoor girlie. While that was years ago and sheโ€™s now adjusted to being a litterbox enjoyer, I canโ€™t promise the same for the visiting cats or possums.

Miserable Melbourne weather out west after a ripper 29C yesterday, guess it was to prepare me for coming back home. I'm still feeling anxious about uni and not being up to what's required of me - but the TLC at my aunties has been really great. I'm glad I'm not staying longer or I think I'd get to a point of indulged-in inertia that I won't be able to get out of in a hurry...

As much as I cherish my nephews and nieces, I myself could not in all good conscience bring a child into this toxic world.

The free food market was small today but I managed to get enough to pull together meals for a few days. My most urgent need was tomatoes and fruit, which I did manage to get. Now I just need to do a proper menu plan for the next few days and I'm set.

Is anyone else's NBN completely screwed or is this a job I need to sort?

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago (5 children)

How does one tell if it's completely screwed? Well, more so than usual.
