“Elon won’t go home. I can’t get rid of him,” Trump said Wednesday. “Until I don’t like him.”

The world’s richest man has reportedly spent “nearly every single day” of the last week at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate ...

“Everyone laughed,” said O’Donnell. “They laughed that uncomfortable laugh. But they laugh when Donald Trump makes a joke about someone on his team, a joke that everyone knows is true, a joke that paints that person as pathetic, as Donald Trump’s personal sense of superiority demands that he do.”

Did trump just get a new order of underage sex slaves or something?

Elon is the nerd kid that got invited to sit with the cool kids, but only because they wanted them to do their homework for them.

Now the homework is handed in and the Elon is still hanging around them and sitting at their table because he has no idea they were using him.

He won't get the hints that they despise him untill one of them turns to his face and openly says "fuck off nerd, we never liked you"

Did you seriously just call the weirdest, fattest, stupidest, orangest, most unintelligible, batshit crazy, toupee wearing buffoon "the cool kid"? For real?

[–] chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It works. Most "cool kids" aren't really, they just use (often misplaced) confidence and attract others to praise or envy them. Then when you get to the real world the rules are similar but still vastly different. Some adapt, some don't. Also contrary to TV, not everyone is even interested in the "cool kids."

Some never were interested, not in a weird hipster way, but just in a "I don't get it" way. Lots of weird right wingers think Trump is cool for some reason. Aside from hate and spite, I don't really get it. He's funny to mock, but I would never want a clown to lead me.

I will never understand how anyone can look at trump and see anything other than a spoiled rotten, petulant, trust fund baby. I guess if being stupid, looking stupid, and having a stupid attitude is cool, then trump is the coolest.

To me the cool kids were generally the ones not doing very well in school so they would try to make it seem like their choice and adopt an "I don't give a shit" rebellious attitude. They don't follow the rules, that's why their grades are bad, not because they don't have the intelligence. (in their mind).

They would continue to do average or even worse but they would get the admiration of other kids for seeming to have confidence and control and rebelling against the establishment (teachers).

Of course not every one admired that type of behaviour, but the attitude of not caring about the rules is exactly what Donald Trump does. I think most of his life he has been pretty average at what he does, but he was good at self promotion. A skill he probably learned in the playground when he was struggling with school.

In this sense Trump is a "cool kid". He is just a rare example of the cool kid succeeding enough to become famous.

And for what it's worth, I don't think being one of the cool kids is something to brag about once school was over. In fact it generally becomes the opposite at that point. American TV often painted the cool kids as the most capable and popular in every way, but that is fantasy.

Musk on the other hand was not a cool kid, but he desperately wants to be one. He must have some issues from school when he was likely shunned by them or bullied and he is trying to make up for it. Explains a lot of his recent actions actually.

"Ha ha, those guys, they like to play. I will log this interaction under the category 'humor'."

Elon wants to step into the grift.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 50 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He can't be humiliated, he has no capacity for shame.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 week ago

Either can be solely external, regardless of said cumstain's ability to comprehend the scene.

[–] kinsnik@lemmy.world 47 points 1 week ago (3 children)

not going to lie. i thought that the relationship would last a bit longer. still would flame out the moment trump first saw a "president musk" joke thou

[–] Seasm0ke@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thats not a bad idea for a disinfo campaign. Start spreading memes and articles around trooth social that venerate musk over trump and keep doing it for every other asshole he appoints. Political comments with musks hand making trumps mouth move and bloop he's gone

[–] db2@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Do it for all his picks. He'll have a meltdown.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Musk probably stopped the free money machine, and Trump already got most of what he wanted from muskyboi

[–] jumperalex@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

If we're lucky he'll last less time than a Scaramucci and we'll have a new unit of measurement.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Can't wait for Elon to start calling Trump a pedo cuz his fee-fees got hurt. Also, did Elon lose his sense of smell? How can he stand to be around Trump that much?

[–] jagermo@feddit.org 3 points 1 week ago

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

Did Elon just learn first hand about leopards? What a shame.

There can only be one.

[–] Prandom_returns@lemm.ee 16 points 1 week ago

Bunch of weirdoes being weird.

[–] veganpizza69@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He does seem like the nerd that gets bullied by jocks, but that doesn't make him not fascist. His role is getting more and more like that of Ford a century ago.

What I'm saying is DO NOT PROVIDE SYMPATHY FOR MUSK. It's a warning.

Millionaire tuna, meet billionaire shark. I'm sure you'll get along just fine inside that tank.

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That was clearly a joke and this title is hopebait

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Yeah most of this article is just some guy speculating on how people took his comments.

But maybe it is the start of showing the cracks.

[–] uebquauntbez@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Leon's an immigrant. Trump wanna get him out, will cut expenses in half doing so.
