Last weeks thread here

Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

Possibly weird question. Does anyone have solar? Are there companies that buy back solar at a proportion of the spot price or is it always a fixed rate?

Just wondering if it's a thing that you can get a cut of the crazy high spot prices when they happen by feeding back from the battery 😆

We don't actually have solar, but are considering it, and this question popped into my mind.

I answered this question, Flick seems to buy back the power at wholesale rates. But wholesale can be very low at points, at the time I was looking the average in the last month was 4c/Kwh, where as some companies will buy back at a fixed rate of 17c/Kwh if you sign up for a 5 year plan.

I bought a bunch of books on Mighty Ape. Please tell me they aren't all going to come in separate packages...
