I just got an OLED and had to RMA it after 1 day due to audio jack being completely messed up. Crackling, interference, static.

Some research online shows it is a very widespread issue and they continue selling broken items, since only a percentage of users use 3.5mm audio interface and only a percentage of these will bother to return the item.

Maybe the refurbished ones will be fixed in process.

I've never used my 3.5mm, but now I want to check...

Real good thing I decided to get a refurbished LCD than going for an OLED model because I'm part of that small percentage of audio jack users.

Yep it works fine on my LCD deck.

does the oled have 4 pole or just 3? One of the reasons I dont use the jack on the lcd is lack of single jack headset support while not even having a dedicated mic jack

For me it depends on the headphones. Its not the best sound with my iems, but with my headphones there are no issues.

This is the only way I would upgrade my shipment 2 steam deck. At current prices, the OLED is a great deal, just not quite a compelling enough upgrade for me to pull the trigger.

If not this, then I will be eagerly waiting for whatever the true second gen steam deck will be.

I wonder if the plastic on a refurbished Deck would be less likely to creak after going through the refurbishment process, making this a better buy than new…

Is the plastic bad on new oled units ? I know on LCD models opening the back would sometimes fix the pad rattling, or random noises too
