I saw it when it came out, in a theater. When the movie ended you could not hear anyone, nobody moved and when we exited, the silence was eerie. I was exhausted. The movie is intense+

When I was 3-4 years old I would rent this movie every weekend. I have no fucking idea why my parents let me watch this all the time.

If my 3 year old was going out and renting a movie on their own, I probably wouldn’t stop them from watching it either.

They did a big boy job and deserve that treat.

It's interesting that the link you posted indicates the purple hearts he received were probably part of the surplus manufactured in WWII, in anticipation of the losses they expected in the invasion of Japan, which never happened.
