The Victoria Amazonica has been reportedly observed, in one instance, to support a load of 498 pounds.

If you try to pull this sort of thing off, do note that the load has to be evenly distributed across the leaf. And also be spread out enough that it does not punch through, i.e. standing on it on your own two feet would probably be a fraught undertaking. Best to lie on it on your belly. Given that this is endemic to the tropics of South America, I would also recommend you have fun avoiding getting eaten by piranhas and/or giant anacondas while you try it.

I googled it and there are many pictures of people standing on them but standing on a disc placed on the pad to distribute the weight just as you said.

Myth: Piranhas will eat animals much larger (such as a cow) than themselves in seconds. This is 100% false. However, all the movies have made piranhas into these evil creatures that eat anything, it all started with President Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt was an outdoors lover and he went exploring in South America in 1913. He wrote a best-selling book about his travels that was published in a book called Through the Brazilian Wilderness in 1914. There, he described piranhas as ferocious creatures that can bite a finger off a human and eat large animals rapidly.

I've seen a picture of a kid sitting on a lillypad in some botanical garden. So yes. I fogot the numbers, I believe they also tested the maximum load (of the lillypad) with sand.
