Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Good weekend for a couple of kiwi sports that I follow closely :)

Day 28 of my recovery. Still not fully back to baseline, but I'm getting there and I cooked a meal last night! And my laundry from the other day is dry!

More spring weather. I love seeing all the birds get into high gear.

We had a power outage for about two hours on Sunday, followed by two brief ones over the next few hours.

We also found some perfectly good firewood lying in the middle of the road, so you win some, you lose some.

We had a very short few minutes power outage on Sunday, just a short time after putting a carrot cake in the oven. Luckily it ended up cooked fine.

Have been living rural for many, many, years, and fitted a small UPS to keep the internet alive for a while during any power outages. Gives us a chance to check the power co to see what’s going on.

Getting a UPS is on the list of things to get, we're also going to get some security cameras at some point, so will want to keep those running when the power is out.

It would also be handy to keep the fridge and freezer running during an outage.

You’ll be looking at a high capacity UPS for fridge/freezer if the outage is more than an hour or so, plus the complicated fitting of it into the power system. What we did was fit plug-in spike suppressors on ours after one outage splatted our kitchen fridge/freezer.
