Video: Macklemore's new song critical of Trump and Musk is facing heavy censorship across major platforms.

MODERATORS

  • The Vegas Loop: Elon Musk’s Boring Company is constructing a planned 68-mile tunnel system beneath Las Vegas where drivers will ferry passengers around the urban core in Teslas.
  • Less Regulation: Despite its size, the project, because it’s privately funded, has not gone through the vetting typical of public transit systems, including lengthy governmental studies.
  • Musk’s Worldview: Musk says regulation often stymies innovation, a view that now has added significance given his new role advising President-elect Donald Trump on government efficiency.

Perfectly adequate for this post.

Elon Musk is burrowing under the American republic and threatening its foundations with very little oversight too.

Again?!?? Does anyone even uses the first one?

The rich idiots know about the dangers of unregulated submarines now. We need to find new ways to let natural selection happen.

Whatchu mean?

You really can’t dig an industrial tunnel without a fuck ton of engineers; not that he would personally ever go there aside from opening it, no?

I beleive (won’t read the article) the governmental oversight will really lack from where the route will be laid, but it really shouldn’t be that hard to figure out from where to ppl wanna go, should it?

It's not hard to figure out where people want to go, but is that route full of stable sediment layers/affecting the groundwater movement/at risk of erosion from groundwater movement/at risk of compaction/etc.

There's a ton going on into environmental surveys for construction

I'm fine with underpaid construction workers and drill operators doing a series of heists, and John McLain's son or daughter finding out about it through some coincidental events...

...especially if Musk dies in the end.

I'm fine with the lack of oversight, but there should definitely be some undersight.

[–] vrighter@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 month ago

it is a tunnel, after all

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

Well just have to wait for the tunnel fire that traps hundreds of people without stupid things like emergency exits that just stiffle his ~~innovation~~ profits

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Don't worry, he doesn't actually give a shit about building anything.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It honestly seems like he's just making private tunnels for himself.

Billionaires playing real world Minecraft and ignoring consequences sounds like 2025.

[–] yonder@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh yeah, this is basically like an undergroud Minecart tunnel like in minecraft, but worse since Minecarts run on rails, while the Muskrat tunnels have cars in them. Trains FTW.

[–] Boozilla@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Of course Elmo designed it with his stupid Tesla cars in mind.
