I was looking at getting some roguelikes / lites (already have ToME, CoQ), unfortunately Cataclysm DDA is not on sale.

Krone Hotel at 90% off looks like a decent choice too. Then there’s Jupiter Hell, which I recently stumbled upon and looks great too.

I’d also like to get some of the FF games, though I’ve played VI, VII, IX and a bit of XII, it would be nice to revisit some of the older ones I haven’t played almost since the PSX era.

Thinking of picking up Stray. My GF loves cats and has been waiting for a sale.

I’ve reached a weird sort of critical mass where steam sales no longer provide me with dopamine

[–] Kalabasa@programming.dev 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Same. The critical mass being the amount of unplayed games...

Satisfactory.

Seems neat so far.

It is unlikely that Cataclysm ever goes on sale, because the steam release basically is just a donation. You can get the game for free on the official website: https://cataclysmdda.org

There you can also donate other amounts than the Steam price.

My entire wishlist is on sale, so pretty much everything!

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 year ago

My wishlist has 134 games on it.

And that's after I bought some of the games I had wishlisted.

[–] philz@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I just picked up a steam deck!

I received BattleBit Remastered as a birthday gift, it's great. I hope they don't drop Linux support.

Other than that I might buy Bugsnax.

[–] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I think I'm going to pick up control.

I've been toying with the idea for a while now and 75% off is really hard to argue against.

I took journey for the third time (1st time I will play the pc version, hope it's the most gorgeous version) and the quantic dream complete collection. The leitmotiv for this summer is "chill and cinematographic games to play outside"

  • Ori and the Blind Forest, after recently completing WotW.
  • GTA IV
  • Stanley Parable: ultra deluxe. Loved the first one.
  • The Beginner's Guide

Some local multiplayer games to play with my partner on the dock:

  • It Takes Two
  • Unravel 1 & 2
  • ibb and obb
  • Pummel Party
  • Sonic All-Stars Racing

I also considered Hollow Knight and Dead Cells, but prefer to get games on GOG when available.

Ordered the steam deck. Pretty excited about it. Also been looking at Dark Souls 3, and R-Type 2.

I’m grabbing Nier Automata finally. I have it on disc in ps4, but my ps5 is digital only. So it’s going to be great to play this absolute classic on sd

I bought Subnautica and ended up playing it all day

[–] ttimebomb@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm jealous. Wish I could play that for the first time again.

FF games are a solid choice. The Pixel Remasters have been very well received and anything that makes the early games more approachable is a solid win in my book. That said, I personally found the 3D version of FFIII (actual 3, not 6) to be phenomenal.

Probably Satisfactory. Made by the same folks doing Valheim, which I've really loved playing. Also thinking about getting High on Life. Supposed to be a good game but the full-price tag has made me hold off until now.

[–] django@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Same publisher, different devs. Great game though.

Necesse. It's like top-down Terraria with colonists that organize your chests for you. Great early game content, anyway.

left 4 dead 2 and team fortress classic. I really love valve games and they are both fun games to play!

[–] Kissaki@feddit.de 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Just now I got three low-priced titles: Verlet Swing | Levelhead: Platformer Maker | Solo

I'm not looking to buy anything specifically. I'll probably check my Steam wishlist at some point with low price and high discount filters and decide if I want anything else.

I don't need anything new though. My library backlog with unplayed great games is big enough.

I finally picked up Subnautica and its sequel. Really liking the game so far, though I tried to play it twice on Hardcore and ended up forgetting that I need to breathe both times, lol.

just bought American Truck Simulator and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA

[–] Cmar@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (4 children)

ATS and ETS are such chill games. Nothing but endless roads and your foot on the pedal.

I only bought games I plan on playing on the Steam Deck. Those are:

  • Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition
  • Mark of the Ninja Remastered
  • RimWorld
  • Rune Factory 5
  • Clive 'n' Wrench

Never played any of them before.

Last night I picked up: Hollow Knight, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Monster Sanctuary, Pillars of Eternity, Guardian’s of the Galaxy, Journey to the Savage Planet, and a Vampire Survivor DLC. Not bad for ~$60.

Probably gonna pick some more out for an even $100 lol Cult of Lamb is high on the list.

I went for High on Life. It looks fun and has some reasonably good reviews.

[–] miega@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Picked up Darkest Dungeon, these rogue lite turn based games seem to work the best with steam deck

[–] TMN@programming.dev 5 points 1 year ago
  • Steam deck 64go. Can't wait :)
  • loop hero
  • age of empire 2 remastered
[–] fennec@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

I got Lake and The Long Dark, both of which had been on my wishlist.

[–] Blaze241@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If I could I would by myself some time to play games

[–] ComatoseSquirrel@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

That's called a "vacation." Unfortunately, those generally come with other activities...
