I would imagine something similar to a regular playground but with adult sized equipment.

Near to where I live there's a park with light exercise stuff for old people, like pedals in front of benches or wheels to turn using a crank or handle.

[-] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I would absolutely go to an adult playground, that sounds awesome

  1. A sex thing
  2. Las Vegas or similar places
  3. An adult-size playground where everything's built for a larger person and all of the climbing toys that got removed sometime in the 80s-90s timeframe because of legal liability are back, too.
[-] noughtnaut@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I'd pay good money, and sign whatever necessary, to get to relive the latter part of your third point. So many fun things got removed, not all of it for good reason....

[-] PeteWheeler@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

I would hope that it would just be a playground just for adults. Don't know why people just lose their spark for playground shenanigans in age. I would love to climb and jump around again. But there isn't any place for that for adults.

[-] moody@lemmings.world 5 points 1 year ago

A playground to run and climb and jump in that's made big enough for adults would be great.

Either a sex thing or an otherwise normal thing with booze

[-] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

I'd add some drugs too just to be safe

You're right, Viagra and birth control for everybody who wants it

[-] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

If you're taking one, you better grab the other.

[-] Mothra@mander.xyz 16 points 1 year ago

Like a jungle gym and castle with slide and ball pit and the lot but scaled up to resist humans weighing up to 200kgs each

[-] Mostly_Gristle@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I don't know if it's still there, but when I visited the town of Ayr in Scotland about 25-ish years ago, they had a playground very similar to that right off of the beach. Everything was large enough to accommodate adults, and I think it may have actually been castle themed. No ball pit though. They did have a thing like a tilted merry-go-round that was at waist height and had no handles. Not sure what it's called, but it was probably the funnest and most dangerous single piece of playground equipment I think I've ever come across. There were about a dozen of us traveling together, and I don't think a single one of us walked away from that thing without catching a boot to the face at least once.

[-] philthi@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

I literally said this today, to my wife and I meant "an area exactly like a children's playground, but suitably large enough for adults to use".

Depends on context of the conversation. Could mean something like City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri or it could mean a sex thing.

[-] idealotus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

City Museum is an all-ages playground! Though I suppose anything can be an adult playground if you restrict it to adults.

[-] psion1369@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Dude, I've been there and it is AWESOME!

[-] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

So basically like Chuck E. Cheese or discovery zone from the 90s. Ball pits jungle gyms. Oooo or some American gladiator(especially the tennis ball guns) or ninja warrior type courses

[-] SatyrSack@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 year ago

Risk E. Rat's

[-] Suck_on_my_Presence@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Discovery Zone!! What a huge nostalgia trip

[-] stinerman@midwest.social 12 points 1 year ago

It would depend on the context. If I saw it on PornHub, I'd assume something related to porn. If I saw it in a flyer from the local Parks & Rec department, I'd think it was a standard children's playground, but for adults.

Simply by itself, I'd default to the park thing.

[-] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

A playground designed for a nursing home but actually good.

Maybe have a boxing station for bone health, a pool for low impact body movement and a kids playground in the corner to help keep the adults feeling safe and connected to their community by seeing the next generation running around laughing, screaming and having fun.

A casino. Or a brothel.

[-] LodeMike@lemmy.today 4 points 1 year ago

A regular playground scaled up by 2X in each dimension.

[-] RBWells@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago
  1. Sex swings, and other Adult adult equipment.

  2. See #1

I think the Adult tag has been coopted to mean sex stuff. We did go do ziplines once, that was like a playground for grownups in a way, they don't use Adult in their marketing.

Wasn't there a dark web child pornography site called the Playpen? That was the first thing that came in to my mind.

[-] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago

The destination in question could be very classy or very not, but it definitely sounds like they're trying to sell it to me.
