Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tells i24 he feels he is on a “historic and spiritual mission,” and that he is “very” attached to the vision of Greater Israel, which includes areas slated for a future Palestinian state and possibly also areas that are part of present-day Jordan and Egypt.

The leader of a country referring to it as "Greater (country)" is rarely a good sign.

[–] zarathustra0@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Who was that guy who had a vision of Greater Germany again?

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It also reminds me of another fuckwad who learned the word "great" in 2016 and has been yelling it from the rooftops ever since

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 33 points 1 year ago

No spiritual mission requires starving babies to death.

[–] Fives@discuss.online 32 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fuck Netanyahu in the ass with a smart bomb.

Genocide through bombardment is the same as genocide through a gas chamber.

Fuck Israel. “Never again,” my ass.

[–] TallonMetroid@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Never again, for Zionists.

[–] stardustsystem@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Sure. God told Bush there were WMDs in Iraq, too.

[–] ButtermilkBiscuit@feddit.nl 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I think that was actually Colon Powell - Bush (lite) just confused him for god because Bush (lite) thinks all black people look the same and he thought he heard that from Morgan Freeman.

Let us never forget.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Netanyahu says he’s on a ‘historic and spiritual mission,’

So was Hitler.

[–] itisileclerk@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

He has the same condition as Adolf Hitler.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 16 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Committing genocide to steal land that's going to get its shit rocked by climate change and probably be borderline uninhabitable wasteland in 30 years.

The irony is that all this military action that they are waging is only making it worse.

This is actual fucking madness.

[–] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Also, the fact that the ultra orthodox don't fight, don't study anything but the Torah, and breed like rabbits, is going to gut the army, and populate Israel with an ignorant defenseless population.

Israel is doomed. The sad part is that it is dragging millions down with them.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It contains the very seeds within for its own internal self-destruction. Its pretty badass the Ultra Orthodox figured out how to gypp the Jews

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The "ultra orthodox' is an actual Jew who understands their faith. It's ironic really how what they say means very little in the Jewish state

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ya but their way of life is not really sustainable in terms of a functional society wouldnt you say?

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 year ago

Modern Israel is a non functional regional fire chucker that attacks all its neighbours. The ultra orthodox' Jews are often decent people, most of Israeli society is absolutely devoid of humanity so in comparison the real Jew is infinitely better.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 year ago

Was this asshole rejected from art school or something?

[–] LinguisticKerosene@lemmy.wtf 15 points 1 year ago

My champagne is ready for the israeli state collapse. 🍾

[–] Unpigged@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 year ago

Sure, he just doesn't define specific interpretation of that greater Israel. Obviously for him it's endless retention of power by any means possible, while avoiding any responsibility.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

As an Egyptian I would be thrilled if Israel tried to invade. Even our Zionist stooges wouldn't be able to ignore that.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

you'll get your wish. They want that canal.

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

They would ignore that and Egypt would get egypt would get its shit rocked. Not to the fault of the Egyptian people but your govt and military are fully in bed with Israel and are a disgrace to the ummah, as are most sunni nations. The real heroes are the resistance

[–] HellsBelle@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Netanyahu is hallucinating.

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Anschluss-inating

[–] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's why he's Hamas' number one fan.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 9 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I don't think Hamas is very fond of the guy starving and murdering them. I know it's fashionable on Lemmy to portray them as Machiavellian actors who only care about power, but like these are living, breathing people too and nobody enjoys getting carpet bombed.

Edit: I misunderstood that.

[–] TallonMetroid@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He's not saying that Hamas is a fan of Bibi, though. He's saying Bibi is a fan of Hamas.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 7 points 1 year ago

Oh shit you're right. My bad.

[–] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It's a gross sentiment to still see when we are years into a genocide. No different from pinning blame on Jewish resistance fighters under Nazi Germany.

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip -3 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Not the same thing. Israel is definitely in the wrong for committing genocide but antisemitism is still real and a lot of people have it.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 6 points 1 year ago

I mean, every resistance organization in history hated the absolute guts of the people oppressing them. It's technically a bad thing, but it's also unavoidable. Irish paramilitaries during the Troubles tended to hate the shit out of Protestants for example, and I'd bet good money plenty Jewish resistance fighters hated Germans as an ethnic group. It's unfortunately a very natural human reaction and in no way unique to Palestinians.

[–] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

You're the one that is conflating resistance against the exterminationist ideology that is Zionism to genuine antisemitism.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

the word antisemitism means what again?

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Genocide is infinitely more important than "antisemitism" when the "Jewish state" calls anything going against them as anti Semitic. If you wanna know why the world is absolutely gonna hate Jews in the younger generation, it has absolutely nothing to do with with colonial European ideas and more that, never again meant, learn from Hitler and become worse than him and cry antisemitism as some sort of protected victim class.

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You're extrapolating the actions of a fascist minority to all Jews. There's a word for that!

[–] Shezzagrad@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not extrapolating anything, on the words of Israel and every western government. I'm not saying I agree and I'm well aware that many Jews are anti Zionist. I don't give a shit about your word, it means fucking nothing when kids are getting starved and shot to death st Israeli led aid drop points.

[–] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

My comment was about how Netanyahu and Hamas keep each other in power.

[–] xiwi@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 year ago

They will never stop

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Of course he was never going to stop. If his goal is to actually cause the annihilation of Jews by worldwide hatred then mission accomplished.

He is validating every fucked up right wing anti semite stereotype.

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Sounds just as deranged as orange turd man.

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Obama contributed to this. He campaigned on opposing settlement expansion, supporting a two-state solution, and acknowledging Palestinian suffering, but in office he largely upheld U.S. support for Israel, backing down on settlement freezes, defending Israeli assaults on Gaza, vetoing UN actions, and signing a record military aid package.

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca -3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Yea I totally remember when instead of continuing Israel’s state, you know he moved the capital and all of this as well… cause no dems have ever done this but you still need a boogie man…remember Biden’s genocidal plan? No you don’t cause you made it up all along while this shit was waiting on the wings… all it takes is a simple mind which here we have… https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2025/1/28/trumps-genocidal-plan-to-clean-out-gaza-was-there-all-along

But yea both sides

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you can't accept legitimate criticism of your side, you're in a cult.

I'm not a republican, I'm a socialist Palestinian. Biden did start and enthusiastically support the genocide that Trump is finishing.

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca -3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Legitimate criticism is fine, absolutes making both sides the same isn’t helpful.

Absolutism works both ways and you calling others cultists doesn’t help you. In fact it perpetuates the very genocide you claim to oppose.

Here we are and you’re making enemies of the genocide’s enemy…

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

You aren't the genocide's enemy if you're still supporting the same unapologetic people that started it. You're just self righteous.

[–] alvyn@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago

He should rotten in hell.
