I'm showing my lack of sophistication here, but what are the differences between the two outfits to the left?

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yeah its the pants. Man wish we could dress nice like this and it be considered normal.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It probably depends on where you live. Here in nyc or wouldn't be considered weird

"Here in nyc or"

You either need to add a second location r someone needs to get to the bottom of why Oregon cannot come up with unique names for cities.

[–] WR5@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Probably just a typo for "it".

Hey you got down voted but I thought it was pretty funny. There's Albany, Arlington, Dallas, Dayton, Detroit, Glendale, Jacksonville, Lexington, Oakland, Pittsburg, Salem

[–] QuoVadisHomines@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

Portland as well because Im sure Maine had that first.

It's a four-piece consisting of a blazer, an overshirt and two trousers.

The description is made in this order:

Left bottom: business suit (blazer with matching trousers)
Left top: sports suit (blazer with contrasting trousers)
Right bottom: solid casual (overshirt with matching trousers)
Right top: contrasting casual (overshirt with contrasting trousers)

If you zoom in the top two pictures the man has on checkered pants.

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I think the pants and tie are slightly different

I once wore bell bottom pants, fake camel hair full length coat, red white and blue platform shoes back in the 70’s.

I bet you looked fly as hell

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 9 points 11 months ago

I was a legend in my own mind.

I think in the 70's I was rocking a bowl cut and corduroys. But my parents are to blame for that.

I got to grow my hair out when I was 12. Joke was on them. I am whiter than a hotel towel and I had a full 100% Afro.

Some people aren't fans of the 1980s, and I ask those people to at last appreciate that it would have just kept being the 1970s had it not been for the 1980s.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 5 points 11 months ago

70s style is so much better than 80s. Like it's not even a question

[–] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 10 points 11 months ago

You could still pull this off.

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 6 points 11 months ago

I had a very similar suit, in the same color, but it was Levis and it had a matching vest.

the 70's

'70s, right? With the apostrophe in the right place?

[–] BussyGyatt@feddit.org 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

excuse me, that apostrophe is in the left place.

You are correct!

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

And afterwards Sears sucked the lifeblood out of senior citizens until that business plan eventually forced them to go out of business.
