"Spaghetti and sauce is a Nintendo trademark. You'll be hearing from out lawyers presently."

It kept me up way past my bedtime last night.

With that said, it suffers pretty hard from a problem inherent to the genre. The more you unlock the less fun it becomes. Unlike other survivor games, silver coins are very precious and you can unlock items way faster than you can unlock banishes. Ive also died countless times due to being stunlocked after a first hit. You can get knocked into other enemies with absolutely no way to recover depending on your momentum. Finally, items dont tell you what they do until you unlock them. Can waste silver early.

With all this said, I don't regret my purchase. I'm having fun with it and there is still plenty of room for me to git gud.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said. After a couple hours I've kinda decided the game isn't for me. I usually really enjoy survivor-likes (is that the right term?) but this one isn't really for me. I think its hype is kinda overblown simply for the humor in the game and less so the quality of the mechanics. If you haven't played Halls of Torment before I highly suggest that game. Has a lot more build variety imo, with a better unlock system and a better game loop.

Nice to see someone mention that one. I really grabbed onto it after vampire survivors because it felt like the levels actually mattered. Not just memorizing (and later knowing) where the free upgrades were in survivors, but actually interacting with the level as if it had a story.

FYI: once you have purchased 40 unlocks you can get the "Toggler" which lets you toggle off any of the weapons/times/items you have unlocked so that they don't drop in a run. It doesn't let you toggle off the starting items, but it lets you narrow the field drastically if you are aiming for a particular build.

We would still eat Kraft dinner. Just more of it with fancy ketchup.

Dijon ketchup.

Fancy dijon ketchups!

Consider switching to a Mac and Cheese that uses vegetable flower in addition to wheat flower (chickpea, spinach, kale, etc.). It's considerably more nutritious (just look at the label and you'll see how many more vitamins are in it compared to Kraft), and tastes the same too.

It's pretty fun for a number-go-up simulator. It's the best of both worlds of Risk of Rain and the "Survivors" genre of games. Tons of unlocks and stupid humor.

Oh shit, that sounds right up my street, guess they're getting another sale

On Steam Indie stars are born. I can't imagine how the videogame world would look like without Indies.

We would all be forced to play CoD every day and have untethered rage issues.

This game fucking obliterates time. Start playing after work and next thing I know it’s 2 AM. Haven’t had this much fun with a game in a long time. Highly recommend, especially at only ten bucks. This game kicks so much ass.

When I see games like this I wonder if they will be a supported hit or a fly by night indie trend which will have a sharp decline to and forgotten developer support like what happened to Content Warning and Lethal Company.

I'm seeing developer support for PEAK, Schedule I and R.E.P.O so the jury is still out on those

Edit: added schedule I

Isn't the dev of this game that semi-famous youtube dev that did collabs with like Mr. Beast and others? I assume he was pretty well off to begin with. Think his name was Dani or something. I mean hell the dev for this game is literally named Danidev but backwards.

I‘ve spent far more free time than I should have watching let‘s play videos of this. But I‘ve not downloaded it myself because after putting around 200 hours into Vampire Survivors and buying the first two lots of DLC I‘ve burnt myself out on the genre. This has got a couple of twists, not including the fact that it‘s 3D, but in the end it doesn‘t really appeal as something to play myself.
