Too many feminists think feminism is about hating men and attacking them.
The women who started the feminist movement even understood that women and men are oppressed by the patriarchy, and that separated we wouldn't be able to do shit against it.
Too bad modern radical feminism seems to exist as a tool of division.
Reminds me of some stuff that Paolo Freire says about how people of a privileged class sometimes react to oppressed people trying to assert their rights.
I'd include a specific quote, but I don't have one at present; I am loosely referring to a quote used in a video essay I recently watched, and I've been meaning to dig up that particular passage, but I don't recall which video essay (or indeed, the specific quote). Freire is pretty great though, and has a number of great takes on, and adjacent to this vibe.
I'm not going to lie I never thought much of DEI or feminism but did think about the inequality when it was mentioned. Then John Stewart was talking about DEI on his podcast and it clicked when he explained it. I was like ohhhhh.......
