I mean, they seemingly don't believe in the idea of Eurovision.

Wouldn't surprise me. Israel's continued, if declining, support by Western powers is dependent on Israel's own ability to project soft power, especially the cultural perception of Israel as a 'normal' Western country. Success in Eurovision assists that goal - thus, the Israeli state has a vested interest in succeeding in Eurovision.

This „interference“ is specified nowhere in the article. Of course Israel would try not to be excluded. Is interference just talking to people or what it is here?

The Dutch broadcaster went on to say there had been “proven interference by the Israeli government during the last edition of the Song Contest, with the event being used as a political instrument.” The statement didn’t elaborate.

I’m shitting on these vague allegations.
