Hey Canada could you not sell ice that stuff? Thanks ☺️

[-] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 59 points 10 months ago

Alternately, do sell it, but make sure it's guaranteed to fail and become an expensive paperweight upon first use. I'd prefer your option, but I'll take mine if I can't get yours.

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 37 points 10 months ago

The failure option is better because it takes money from their budget and sends it to Canada, even if it's to a soulless corporation.

[-] LordCrom@lemmy.world 50 points 10 months ago

Wtf does ICE need with APCs?

Are they that terrified of normal people just trying to earn a living?

[-] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 22 points 10 months ago

Yes. Racists are inherently cowards.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 points 10 months ago

They're protecting us from all those immigrants who rob, rape, and murder us whenever we leave our homes.

I've been robbed, raped, and murdered three times in the last week, and I'm getting tired of it. I need to get ICEd up.

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 47 points 10 months ago

I'm Canadian and I disapprove of this message. It would also be nice if we stopped selling weapons to Israel.

Hey Canada, if you could sabotage these somehow so they're useless and ICE becomes easier targets for American citizens that'd be awesome.

[-] lemmyng@piefed.ca 22 points 10 months ago

According to another comment on this thread they are Ford trucks, so it might be hard to tell the difference between sabotage and just plain Ford-iness.

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I am relieved they hired Ford. At least you know this shit will break down all the time.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago

you could sabotage these somehow

LOL. Made in Canada Ford trucks are shit. no need for sabotage.

because ramming innocent people in giant SUV's isn't satisfying enough.

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 32 points 10 months ago
[-] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 months ago

I would prefer we don't sell weapons to fascist like Israel or the USA.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 20 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

ICE’s Office of Acquisition Management laid out the reasons why Roshel LLC, headquartered in the Toronto suburb of Brampton, is the only approved vendor “that possesses sufficient inventory to meet the required delivery schedule and the salient characteristics identified by ICE.”

20 vehicles in 30 days, works out to $360k per vehicle.

FYI it's a stripped Ford 550, which are built in the US, rebuilt with armor.

[-] swingingmilftitties@lemmynsfw.com 16 points 10 months ago

They can only identify one vendor to fulfill the staggering quantity of...20? Smells like bullshit

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

It's the timeline.

[-] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 10 months ago

Probably a grift, as MAGA is prone to do. I suspect a fair bit of the massive ICE budget is engineered to end up in the 1%'s pockets. I am not sure how to feel about these shitbirds cannibalizing their political goals for the sake of mammon...

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 19 points 10 months ago

Fuck, man...why? Why is Canada helping with this shit? Fuck Carney. Fuck this entire timeline. This is shameful.

[-] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 9 points 10 months ago

The Canadian company Garda was the contractor building Alligator Auschwitz.

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

Another display of Canadisn so called display values Carney was talking about

Why would Canada support the modern day SS?

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 14 points 10 months ago

Because of the modern-day $$.

[-] Dasus@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago
[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

Canada is a big weapons supplier to Israel, the modern day Nazis. If that does not break their code of conduct nothing will.

[-] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 months ago

Canada's code of conduct is "We'll fuck anything up for money." See also our mining corporations, oil companies, etc.

[-] swagmoney@lemmy.ca 9 points 10 months ago

oops i may have manufactured wiring harnesses for these vehicles sorry guys 😞

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Hopefully you fucked up a couple of them

[-] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 2 points 10 months ago

"Up" is doing a lot of work here. But both work.

[-] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 8 points 10 months ago

America FIRST!...well, America second, OK,OK, America third, We can be fourth, that's fine.

[-] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 7 points 10 months ago

And reported by the Independent… in UK

[-] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

Any Brampton lemmings here? Anyone working at Roshel? Got a monkey wrench or a sabot handy?

Do US a solid, wouldja, and make sure those motherfuckers are stranded in the angry crowd, with freon streaming into the cab from the AC and oil and power steering fluid making a trail behind them.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

Dude, that's best case scenario for vehicles coming out of Brampton.

[-] runsmooth@kopitalk.net 7 points 10 months ago

Purchases by federal agencies are generally exempt from tariffs.

US Tariffs - just on the stuff normal people have to live on.

[-] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 months ago

Lol

Badge says: ICE US Officer

ICEUS Officer? How do you pronunce that? I-SIS? Idk man, sounds like some islamic radical terrorist group operating withing our country...

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago
[-] GaryGhost@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Dude they could have at least contracted out to one of the big 3 car companies. Stupid

[-] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

MAGA doesn't care, they'll gas light themselves into believing Canada is the 51st state, just like they think Mexico paid for a wall.

[-] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Classic MAGA.

[-] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Hey, Canada is an American country, in that it's on the North American continent. This could be called America first, if you want to be obtuse about definitions,
