No worries Don, it's engraved on the edge of the medal for you to remember forver that it's not yours.

[–] farboo99@lemmy.world 42 points 7 months ago (1 children)

nah he immediately covered her name with his fav sharpie.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

Unlike Donny’s ass, one quick wipe and the engraving be even bolder than before.

It's just unfathomable to me that she thought it was a good idea to give it to him.

She won it for her work in promoting democracy, then she uses it to bribe someone to help her subvert democracy.

I cant help but feel like the Nobel committee really chose the wrong person.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

She's trying to buy her country back with a hunk of metal. It's understandable.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 10 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

No she's trying to secure support for her candidacy.

[–] Lileath@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 7 months ago

She won it by grifting. Just because someone is against an oppressive regime doesnt make them good nor democratic. The same with Navalny or for a less recent example Stauffenberg.

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

If a “democracy” laureate can turn the Nobel medal into a gift to Donald Trump to secure leverage, it exposes the prize as elite propaganda, not a meaningful moral measure. And it reveals Machado’s “pro-democracy” image as branding for regime-change patronage, where legitimacy comes from foreign powerbrokers rather than Venezuelan popular sovereignty.

She was never pro democracy, look into her past and support for American coups. She's a right wing fascist, like the lot of them.

The same Nobel committee who gave one to Obama who has over 500 drone strikes under his belt?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Should he not have attacked Al Qaida? Or is it just the drones you object to?

And how many drone strikes did Trump order, and what was the noncombatant death toll of those?

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 1 points 6 months ago

I object to yet another bloodthirsty US warmonger.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 months ago

She's a member of the corrupt kleptocracy that Chavez kicked out. The fact that Maduro was a shit leader doesn't mean that the faction that had been driven out of power was any better.

I cant help but feel like the Nobel committee really chose the wrong person.

They really should shut that shitshow down. It's doing more harm than good.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Nothing a little filler can't solve.

[–] becausechemistry@piefed.social 69 points 7 months ago (6 children)

I am once again begging people not to post a headline that starts with “Trump, 79,” that doesn’t end with. Well. You know

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 19 points 7 months ago

It's the Daily Beast. They think it's cute for some reason, but it's just a hopium rag at this point.

[–] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 15 points 7 months ago

"79 rape charges" was what my brain autofilled

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 7 months ago

Write to the daily beast then. The headline should match the linked article IMO.

[–] lando55@lemmy.zip 4 points 7 months ago

TRUMP, 79, HAS BEEN PRONOUNCED ~alive and well~

[–] BleatingZombie@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

His brutal and violent death?

[–] becausechemistry@piefed.social 3 points 7 months ago

I would prefer he dies surrounded by the people he loves doing the thing he loves to do the most.

(Nobody; eating fast food)

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone -1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Fake obituary titles are such bullshit... it either gets peoples hopes up for nothing, or makes people sad for no good reason. Its one of the worse forms of clickbait.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 69 points 7 months ago (2 children)

He got what he wanted. Why bother to remember who gave it to him? Its amazing how so few people understand what a narcissist truly is.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

narcissist

Yeah, but it's that plus dementia. Fucker's basically 1 step away from mixing up camel and rhino on cognitive tests.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

He has been this way for his whole life. Sure now he can’t mumble a consistent lie but the root cause of trumps cruelty is narcissism. A utter lack of empathy. Its why people like him think empathy is bad. It interferes with their cruelty. Not realizing if no one had empathy they would have been finished a long time ago.

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 31 points 7 months ago

Why should he remember the name of a nobody who doesn't even have a Nobel Peace Prize?

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 31 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Is it dementia? It's is it that she's no longer of any importance to him? Probably both.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 10 points 7 months ago (2 children)

There are several knowledgeable people who are quite convinced that he is in the late stages of dementia, some saying he has months left to live.

So that's a glimmer of hope.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 16 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Would love a source on this. I need a good Saturday morning read

Oh, please let it be over soon

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 1 points 7 months ago

Good to source these claims but don't use futurism.com as a source as it's full of made up shit articles

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

I've seen it in multiple articles which I haven't saved unfortunately, but this is my main source which I keep coming back to for the lulz.

[–] Resonosity@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Evil never dies.

Wish it did though.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Yeah, no, for sure, someone else will come along and continue to be shitty. But I really want Trump specifically to stop existing.

[–] jdr8@lemmy.world 27 points 7 months ago

“Sir, what about Greenland?”

“Who?!”

[–] MOARbid1@piefed.social 26 points 7 months ago

Now we just need him to forget to breathe, and we’ll be good.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 7 months ago (1 children)

To be fair, she is brown and a woman

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

And an american puppet. Nobody respect traitors like her

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

He's probably faking it because he's mad the chocolate coin she gave him chipped his veneers.

[–] PodPerson@lemmy.zip 8 points 7 months ago

Clearly her name is Maria Southamerica. While she was in the US, after gifting Donnie his special award that he earned, she flew to California to meet with Tim Apple.

[–] elbiter@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That Bitch. Her name is That Bitch.

[–] amateurcrastinator@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

The not Melania is also a valid choice

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 6 points 6 months ago

Not surprising. During the run up to the election he got Nicky Jam to shill for him on stage and appeared to get him mixed up with Nicki Minaj...

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

Can't remember the last person who he met with that gave him something he has always wanted but he can be trusted to make important trade and defensive judgements.

This would be bizarrely funny if so many people's lives weren't on the line.

[–] beemikeoak@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ah shit. It's Corina Machado! I was going to say that even I don't remember since l don't remember for example who won the price for biology.

[–] amateurcrastinator@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

What type of Starbucks coffee is this again?
