In case anyone forgot, Rittenhouse went to a protest with a loaded rifle looking for a fight, shot ~~two~~ three people, walked away untouched, was acquitted, and got speaking gigs on conservative TV shows. You can do whatever you want as long as you're on the "right" side.

fun fact: teenage Rittenhouse had better discipline and control during the immediate timeframe of him shooting people than these 5+ year ICE/CBP goons have

regardless of what he set out to do, if you watch the videos of the event, it's actually less of a transgression than the shit going on now. and that's, uh, sad.

They're scared shitless that Minnesotans will realize they can legally carry rifles (they need a handgun permit tho) and ICE only has pistols

They're already out numbered 10-1 everytime they get out of their trucks.

CCWs don't help, because they're not a visual deterrent and the act of drawing would get you shot.

But a big fuck off rifle will make them get back in the truck. America has a dark history, so fuck it let's co-opt it.

Let's see how the racists feel when they get followed everywhere by a group of people with rifles.

I have a feeling bare minimum they won't be so quick to escalate to violence.

as per the bbc article linked by the other dude who replied to you, the NRA and other pro-gun lobby groups have urged investigation into the circumstances of Pretti's death. I'm kind of interested in how much that divides Trump supporters who are mostly pro-ice and pro-gun. It probably won't tbh...

That's how rights work, they're not inalienable because the government pinky swore to leave them alone. They're inalienable because the people are explicitly responsible for maintaining that.

Some generations get to eat the cake, some have to make it, and we're all about to get a baking lesson whether we want to or not, it ain't gonna be a choice.
