That we should have kids. Not every woman would be a good mom, and not every woman wants kids. It should be respected
WomensStuff
Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.
Rules…
- Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
- Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
- Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
- No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
- New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
Similarly, everyone should shut up about other people having kids. Some people want kids but have trouble and saying anything at all about it to them is salt in a wound.
Needing to earn $$$ to be considered succesful.
For me, success is happiness. A clean and beautiful environment with lots of nature, education, adequate and affordable housing, mixed use neighbourhoods, safety, equity, and privacy. Adequate and accessible (mental) healthcare, good rights for all (on queer, labour, women and disabled regards especially), bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. And this being present for everyone.
Nobody pulling each other 'down' for money, but everyone cooperating to help each other. That is what I consider success. It's not money, but general wellbeing, that should form the basis for measuring success.
When you can come to your own house and not panic over politics, violence, being fired at a moment's notice. When you can walk safely by yourself, smell the rain on leaves, know that you're gonna be fine no matter what - when one can just feel ... themselves at peace. That is succes.
For that reason if I see a job go like "you'll earn $100k" but it's terrible and stressful, I'd prefer skipping that for a job that's $60k but doesn't have harassment, is in a good area and I can be myself.
That you’re not smart if you don’t have a college degree. It’s ridiculous too that a big motto in college is “Cs get degrees” and cheating happens regularly and yet graduates often still look down on people without degrees. I have people in my family with and without degrees and it’s enraging to watch some of the ones with the degrees be so dismissive of anyone without a degree, especially when they are actually dumber than those without.
I couldn't agree more! Degrees are IME very white, straight, ableism etc centric and just prove that someone can perform in a specific way. I did English at a prestigious uni and most people on my course did zero work and openly talked about cheating their way to a 2:1. Why should they be seen as higher?
That we should monetize our hobbies.
I don't want to wear a bra. But I'm like a fucking K cup so I'm expected to not just wear one but like it. The tities just want to lay flat and shellacked to my stomach.
sorry, what is shellacked?
Being thin. Everyone needs to simply enjoy what ever shape your body is but aspire to be healthy. Women of every age are worrying about their bodies instead of finding peace and comfort in them and i have had enough of the unnecessary stress on everyone.
