Jellyfin is great. I've been messing around with CopyParty, it has a nice file sharing web interface with the option to run as an ftp server as well.

It's hard to find anything VLC doesn't support. Just try it. It's great on any device.
Are these personal videos or commercial movies and TV? If the latter, Jellyfin/Plex/Emby are what you want.
