I've never seen a good episode of King of Queens. Maybe I don't get it, but the other person who responded doesn't seem to, either.

It's not that I don't find Kevin James funny, but I don't find him especially funny. It's a sitcom, so the situations are amusing, but all in all it's just kind of bland to me. Is there something special about Queens, New York that I just don't get? Or is it just a vehicle for James's comedy and it just doesn't appeal to me?

It seems to me that King of Queens isn't a show people like but it's nice to have on in the background. I would place Seinfeld in the same category, but I actually like Jerry Seinfeld — his comedy, not the man, I do think he's funny and has good delivery — as well as some of the other cast members (though not all). Also Reba, though I like Reba McEntire (I mean who doesn't). These shows all seem to be like "background" shows you don't actively watch.

...which I guess fits what people say about Netflix, that it's not something you pay direct attention to.

Can anyone explain the appeal of Kevin James to me?

It's like a combination between Dolly Parton and William Shatner 😅 #awkwardboner
