Just freeze the pasta water, then you can reuse it for the next pasta and you don’t need new boiling water
Better yet, keep it boiling and save the heat as well.

Freezing and thawing the pasta water is a huge waste of energy. Might as well just get new water from the tap.
Thanks. I thought it might be a joke but I really couldn’t tell. Some people really do think we should try to save water at all costs, not realizing that electricity is often more precious than clean water.

Don't worry! The coffee filter will see many more uses too! 😊
Then eventually it will have enough starch to be used as pasta. You can make a stuffed pasta like a ravioli or tortellini. You could fill it with the coffee grounds, which you would also save.
I think a lot of people fail to understand the difference between "waste" (verb) and "use" (verb)
Just keep using the same water to boil pasta instead of throwing it!
And ffs, use a moka to make the coffee.

A traditional italian coffee machine. It's made in aluminium or steel, and the filter is also on the same material so you don't have to use one every time. They are extremely durable, with some passing from parents to children.

You use the starch to thicken sauces!
Sure but what else? If I am not making sauces I will just throw it away.
You should always be making sauce when you make pasta. Even if you are using jarred sauce, throw some of the (previously salted, you did remember to salt the pasta water before you cooked the pasta right?) pasta water in a saucepan and saute it then add the sauce and simmer. When it thickens up enough, add the pasta to the sauce and enjoy.

You can thicken soups too, anything you'd use flour to thicken.
