Seems the dementia denial is greatest right before the inevitable tell-all. I’ve seen the same with old people in my family. Trump is doing the same now. In Biden’s case it’s what screwed us all. Though maybe it was inevitable.

For some more context: the onion political cartoons lean into extreme caricature of political cartoons themselves. The cartoonist is always depicted with an "I am very smart" quip.
This is ironically one of the most toned-down comics I've seen from them! They're usually a lot more silly
