Better yet: wake at random, feeling as if an entire night of sleep is already done. Look at the clock and only two hours have elapsed and there is still an entire night to sleep.

Nonetheless, wake up before the alarm rings, feeling fully refreshed, as if two full nights of sleep have been had.

When I get these episodes, I feel like a champ the entire day. Sadly it also makes me a bit annoying, as it makes overjoyful.

then you go back to sleep to get the maximum amount of hours and wake up drowsy

I get that on those lazy weekend mornings where I wake up at my regular and just keep my lazy ass in bed reading.

After some time, I eventually nap a bit. Waking from that usually means I get drowsy. But don't care: lazy weekend!

gotta deprive yourself of sleep to meet the social standards of the exact right amount of joyful

This is why I keep waking up before my alarm!

I wonder what it takes for us to unlock this ability of ours. It happens so randomly, and always just a few minutes before the alarm. One time I woke up the exact minute prior to the alarm going off. Abd was wide awake even

Humans got an internal clock. My uncle who is a farmer has never used an alarm to wake him up. I personally stopped using an alarm years ago after high school, I just wake up ~5am and do my thing. The key is to just be consistent and your body will adapt.

Cats do too. My cat would wake me up if my alarm didn't go off on time. Also he understood the difference between weekdays and weekends somehow because it didn't happen on my days off.

Body pain helps 😂😭

Anxiety about oversleeping because you had a bad phone once that would make the alarm just randomly not work so after several times being late to work you just wake up 2 hours early and can't get back to sleep

Training. Though, amount of training differs from person to person. For me, it's about 3 days of being woken at the same time and i wake up a few minutes before the clock. Looking at the clock before you sleep and thinking until when you want to sleep, may help adjust your internal clock.

sleeping always at the same time and i read in some scientific pager that's it also caused by stress

This is why I set an alarm for 3:00 in the morning so I get to wake up and go hell yeah I get to sleep for almost 4 more hours!

God damn I can't believe I've never thought of it that way. Here in about 4 hours and 15 minutes my time I'm going to wake up and celebrate you friend.

[–] CaptnNMorgan@reddthat.com 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

But that takes away precious REM sleep

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

It won't be much of a celebration I promise

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 16 points 10 months ago

Me going to bed at 930 and waking up at 2 feeling great, going back to sleep and waking up at 6 feeling like shit.

When you have this feeling but are so tired that you don't care, oversleep, and end up being 5 hours late.

[–] miley@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

I hear my alarm going off while I’m dreaming and my subconscious self knows to continue ignoring it

[–] Whisper06@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 10 months ago

5:37 every day like clockwork, doesn’t matter what time I go to bed. My alarm is at 6

[–] clark@midwest.social 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I really do wonder how old this meme is. Can’t remember when I saw it for the first time…

[–] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 6 points 10 months ago

When I first got on Lemmy I only posted OC. But Ive since realized two things: 1) creating content takes time/effort and 2) no one cares or notices that you're just doing OC.

So now I sprinkle in reposts if I haven't seen them on here before.

When the sun starts coming up, but you know that it doesn't come up until the middle of January you know you're fucked.

But not for long
