Oh it’s been a while, I must rewatch it again soon.
I usually watch in air order, it’s a nostalgic time for me, I like watching it how I watched it as a kid
I can appreciate the nostalgia!
Babylon 5 was aired on my local TV station when I was a kid, but my first time watching it was an episode in the second or third season and it was clear that I was missing a lot of context. I didn't get around to watching it for real until the late 2000s.
I started cold with S01E01. So far… so meh. I think I’m around 15 in. Episodic tv hasn’t aged well.
Stick with it, the show has an epic story told across five seasons. The first season is maybe the most difficult to get through, at least the first time. The reward is worth it, in my opinion.
Also there's a TV movie that aired as a pilot before the first season, titled The Gathering. It's not crucial to watch first, but you'll probably want to watch it eventually. "There is a hole in your mind."
+1 stick with it! It gets much better in season 2
In the beginning
The gathering
Season 1-4
Thirdspace
Season 5
River of souls
Call to arms
Crusade
I skip call to arms, lost tales, and the most recent animated film.
I liked The Road Home but I have only watched it once, and not as part of watching the series.
It's too bad that more of the original cast was not around to provide voice acting.
I consider The Road Home to be Babylon Squared 4 we're beating this horse till the money stops
A war without end is Babylon Squared 2 electric boogaloo and 3
Fair enough.
Welcome to /c/babylon5!
Babylon 5 is a sci-fi space opera that ran from 1994 to 1999. Pitched as "a five year story, a novel for television," Babylon 5 featured a serialized story before it was common for primetime television to do so.
The serialized nature of Babylon 5 means it is eminently spoilable. If you have not seen Babylon 5 but are interested, you may encounter spoilers here. You've been warned!
Watch Online
Babylon 5 is available on HBO Max.
It can also be purchased on iTunes, Google Play, and YouTube:
