I don't really watch the show but isn't this a nasty way to treat a character who's a decent person?
I love the show but there are valid arguments that Jim was an asshole.
Most of Jim's pranks prey on Dwight's fascist personality flaws. For example, he pretends to be the FBI and sends Dwight on "secret missions". Dwight eagerly obeys the "federal police", because he's a fascist.
