Billionaire tech investor Peter Thiel delivered a series of provocative warnings and predictions about the future of artificial intelligence and the West on Tuesday, accusing Pope Leo XIV of inadvertently serving as a “Chinese communist agent” by calling for AI regulation. In his remarks at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, he also warned of a “democratic-socialist takeover” of the United States’ Democratic Party.

Thiel, a co-founder of Palantir and PayPal, was an early supporter of President Donald Trump in Silicon Valley. He also helped launch Vice President JD Vance’s career: Vance worked at Mithril Capital, an investment firm Thiel co-founded, before Thiel backed his transition into politics. He delivered his remarks at a nonrecorded panel alongside the political scientist Francis Fukuyama. Reporters were allowed to take notes on the proceedings.

Goes to show that powerful people don't have principles. They only see "who enables me" and "who resists me" and will invent any narrative they can to justify it - either to others or to themselves.

Seriously, it's hard to explain to people how incredibly stupid that take is. Absolutely baffling. I'd love to understand his angle though.

Gee and this just happened to go down a few days after the Pope ex-communicates four schism causing bishops. Seems like that group of American totalitarian fascist leaders are trying to make the papacy an American version of the Avignon Papacy.

Trump is actually hellbent on total world domination in my opinion. Trump won't ever feel "safe" until every one of us is under his will.

That's actually reasonable, because he's such a massive a-hole, given the chance, he'll get beaten up in any hood, worldwide. Even tho his tarriffs always backfire, ppl understood the intention. He wants to bully everyone.

Think about it: The American Fascist state is built on Christian Nationalism. What is the ONE massive Christian organization with a power structure based OUTSIDE the United States? Do you think an organization run out of Rome, Italy with a global reach is ever going to support the idea that The United States is the Second Jerusalem, that the United States is Unique Among Nations and God's Favorite Country, that the United States is The Shining City on the Hill?

The Catholic Church must be destroyed.

It's frustrating how this asshole just keeps returning / stays at the top. Guy's like an embodiment of evil. If you don't know who to vote for in the election, just check who Peter Thiel is supporting and you can safely vote for the opposite side. And that's for every country because the asshole has his fingers everywhere

These guys have property in many countries, New Zealand amongst them.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why would these evil assholes want to live in New Zealand, don't they know those guys are pros at tossing evil into volcanos?

Why not just accuse him of being the ant-Christ? Or was that last year's boogeyman? Now it's the Communists? Who can keep up?

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 5 points 3 weeks ago

I knew it! I saw a bishop eat a succulent Chinese meal once! The Vatican is in cahoots with BYD! They want to redesign the popemobile!

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

Idiots just say shit. Anyone else getting tired of it?

Apparently he's also weak on crime

Doesn't realize the antichrist was back in the states. Someone should give him the same incentive to leave forever now.
