Lemmy represents what the internet as a whole was like in the 90s. A wonderful place where people can have actual discussions on diverse topics without self censoring, algorithm games, and karma farming. Its only like that because genpop hasn't come to shit all over it yet.

we need fediverse webrings and domain cliques so bad for fediverse accounts :>
One difference that Lemmy still has is the whole upvote system. 90s and 00s internet didn't have that. To be fair, it was also much slower.
90s and 00s also had forum owners and "moderators" with absolute, unchecked power. They could (and would) ban you for any perceived slight ... or just modify your posts to make you look like an idiot or asshole.
Even so, it was leagues better than the modern internet.
Idk... I feel like the only reason lemmy is so nice and community feeling right now is because it's so niche. If all the reddit assholes come here it's gonna all go to shit
Our community exists to create a safe space for gender diverse people, and not to mention a lot of users here came running from reddit. Everyone is welcome! But if there's a lot of people coming then we might need an extra instance or two :P
I wish I could get valerate for only $50. The US healthcare system if so expensive. It's about $100 for a 5ml vial plus about $1 per injection for a syringe and drawing and injection needles at the local pharmacies. With my super expensive insurance plan I pay $30 per vial, but have to use the unreliable mail order pharmacy. I used to use patches, but the insurance started requiring authorization to get dosages above what a cis-woman would need, and then recently repeatedly denied the authorizations with no explanation. So, I do injections until that goes away.
At least after giving my doctor the research my original prescriber gave me (she was amazing but switched specialties) she was open to more appropriate blood levels. I'm definitely lucky to live in a progressive city compared to most of the US where even the Catholic owned corporate provider groups that are all that's left in much of the US, due to their tax breaks and abusing doctors being unfair advantages, teach their providers about trans healthcare.
Well we say DIY or DIE for a good reason.
You have any safe injection sites near you that you can get free supplies just like I did?
Also start with 4mg EEn weekly via DIY HRT imo.
Oh hey, another Ontarian here!
I've been doing my part Fedi shilling a bit in the TransOntario discord, but it would be nice if those from the Reddit can also learn about here too. 🤔
Transontario is conservative and closed minded.
Conservative in a way that not open minded.
They get what they deserve imo but idk.
They downvoted me when I mentioned we should use libre software as surveillance is increasing in this country LMFAO
I couldn't find any reddit frontend that worked :(
Best i can do is old reddit https://old.reddit.com/r/transontario/comments/1uzz3bp/just_found_out_my_doctors_been_under_dosing_my/
Just FYI, they're starting to restrict old reddit to logged in users only.
libredirect has a frontend search tool, and it found https://redlib-1.privadency.com/r/transontario/comments/1uzz3bp/just_found_out_my_doctors_been_under_dosing_my/
Ty <3
nyaowowooo, as my opinion the "underdosed" are measureable, despire estrogen insenstivity is rare, but we have different sensitivity anyway, the body when thinks hormones are enough will suppress HPG axis so hypothalamus like "ugh we havee enough hormones, gonna shut off GnRH production" and then pituary gland LH/FSH production as well, which will turn off gonads, BUT!! measuring gonad supression only by "high E2", "low T" is completly incorrect, i found funny how doctors often forget about measuring LH, and despire zero LH the testosterone can be still elevated, because some ppl have stuff like backdoor producion from adrenal glands, disease like adrenal hyperplasia just exist
SHBG also interesting stuff, but its can be completly depends on just hormone spikes, women with rare estrogen insentivity syndrome can have 3000pg of estradiol but still have 40nmol of SHBG
