I'm also on the regex list, but oddly I don't have the trailing $, so if I made an account like, oDojan, that'd not be caught. I'm not alone in not having a $, but a lot of people do.
I'm on the list, but I'm not sure if it's on my own merits or because my username is similar to that of a controversial mod of another instance.

It's like a badge of honour in any community that a mod/developer/etc can ban you from their community just for having an opinion.
