roided up meatball, he the ellen degeneres of movie stars. rock immediately, lowers the quality of any movies hes in,. and likely he is catering to the lowest denominators of audiences, chinese people love to watch dumb things western actors do in movies.

It would be awesome if he decided one day he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor and broke out of these typecast roles ala Tom Hanks

Guessing 3 of them might be The Rundown, Jumanji, Walking Tall, and im not sure.... Maybe the one is Jumanji 2?

Haven't seen anything with him in it recently. Although I did watch Red One

I think one is Journey to the Center of the Earth?

I want to see The Rock in a remake of The Rock.

remember he was in the MUMMY movie as a bad CGI scorpion.

The Rock as Brian Johnson in AC/DC the movie.

The Rock rocks the Rock rocking out in theatres near your rockin' community.

And he made a great confused meatball. Until he became obsessed with his "brand".

Confused meatball is a strange basis for a brand.

The dude knew he was typecasted but grew rich doing it. Can't really fault him for taking on work offered and promoting the shit out of it. I only wish other former wrestlers like Bautista were offered more roles, I really liked his role in Blade Runner 2049.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

dave actually is an actor, rock has no interest in even improving his range.

Bautista's getting a ton of roles. Some of his movies have been pretty good.

I of course am the kind of weirdo who actually liked In the Lost Lands.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

but he doesnt get a-list roles like DWAYNE does, and large contracts.

Idc let the guy live his best life. He can be passibly funny, I'm not watching these movies to be intellectually simulated.

Why add the first one that doesn't fit? The shirts are almost identical on the other three, just ppst those and have it make sense.

[–] coolie4@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (3 children)

The Rock is cooked.

With the exception of Polynesian-specific roles like in Moana, Bautista can play every character the Rock can, and so many more.

The Rock is cooked.

"Dwayne Johnson's net worth is estimated at $800 million as of 2026."

[–] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 44 points 2 days ago (8 children)

Sigh, I wish I was so well cooked.

Yes and where does one to go to become "cooked", just so I know how not to end up there of course.
