The last time Congress shut off funding for a war, the Reagan Administration created the Iran-Conta Affair, and spawned the crack cocaine epidemic that killed millions of Americans.

I’m waiting for the inevitable cry of “ending this war is antisemitism”.

You're probably aware but if not. It's already a rallying cry. "Iran is threatening everyone including Israel, if we don't defend them Iran will destroy Israel, your an antisemite of you don't support stopping Iran first"

The inevitable conclusion to this shit is "ok, guess I'm an antisemite then".

Do they think labels of bigotry will make people change their opinion? Do they know what fucking country they live in? That doesn't even work when the labeling of bigots is true. Hell, they end up in the white house.

There's absolutely no way that's gonna backfire..

If that happens then how will the Orange Shitgoblin kill innocent children, huh?
Why won't anyone think of the Shitgoblin's murderous desires!!??!

Oh, wait, don't worry. I've just read that Shitler's regime are cutting Medicare aid, which will kill thousands and thousands in the long run. Phew, I was a bit worried there for a second.

Well if he can't kill innocent children anymore, he'll just have to go back to raping them.

At that things age?

Ok, after having a quick think I suggest the fat orange imbecile takes a dosage of 1000 highest strength viagras, all at once, to get the wrinkly mushroom tingling. Or a quick injection of 200ml of bleach...

For something that’s not a war because all this was done illegally based under other false pretexts and “names”, this sure does sound, feel, and act like it is in fact, a war.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 10 points 1 day ago

Yeah that's the thing: This was basically all legal (war crimes aside). The US political system has been shifting towards this being acceptable for at least two generations. The president gets to wage war wherever he feels like it in America.

Which happens first... Funding gets cut or run out of munitions?

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Munitions, then funding cut, then Trump blaming the lack of munitions on the funding cut.

The goal right now is to get Europe involved via Ukraine. They are testing the waters right now.

But, I think they miscalculate Europeans. They don't care about Ukraine. They care about NOT becoming Ukraine.

If Europe gets involved all of Europe gets stuck in the same meat grinder for America as Ukraine has been in.

Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
