In May I asked for a raise. Not just asked, but researched thoroughly my position and responsibilities and spent a week coming up with the perfect email stating a figure and supporting it.

I started the job in 2017, got a cross-promotion (more duties same pay) to coordinating smaller projects and suggesting organizational improvements.

I was making the same salary since starting in 2017.

Tonight I received an official offer of employment.

It's a 23% raise with guaranteed minimum 3% raise yearly, and 4 weeks vacation up from the legal 2, and I'm getting retroactive pay back to last year's promotion.

It's far, far more than I asked or expected, but I'm over the moon and probably won't sleep tonight.

Taking a breather from writing on my normal dystopian topics this last week; simply exhausted from the news cycle. Feeling OK, though.

I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

Hello everyone! I know I signed up about a year ago, but I finally worked up the courage to post. My life's been... pretty rough for the past year or so. No major reason why, just my mental health being weird. Kind of old, getting older, never really figured myself out, living paycheck to paycheck in a town I don't really like, isolated most of the time. I don't want to sound like I'm whining, so sorry if I do. It's just all sort of come to a head recently, and I'm trying to figure out if it'll ever really get what I want out of life. I still have some hope that things can improve, at least, even if it's slight.

How is my week going?

A Beehaw user replies to my Leemy comment that I write like a "machine artificial intelligence" in my use of English. Casual dehumanizer on machine app (iPhone, Android?) machine lust lover. I created social media sites (published social media server apps) in year 1985 in high school and the society of Internet "Netizens" has never been more owned to dehumanize persons they don't grasp or understand. The deport-others deport- second language speakers - block-others, immigration enforcement "you are a non-person" and write like a non-local dialect society...

sub-human, non-person, you sound like a bot non-human to others. Never ever ever ever facing the very old phrase "Sounds Like Greek language to me!".

I turned down a job offer due to its lack of transparency and structure. I feel regret and relief. Someone told me I could've just taken the job and see how it would take off (as a very new startup), but I was eyeing their unguaranteed, unpredictable hours (no social outreach, online contact info, questionable timeliness, etc.) in conflict with my transportation logistics and said no. Plus...I've seen disorganized leadership before, and I detected it throughout the whole process.

They kept saying it might've been worth a try, though. And it's like great, sure, stir up more of my regret and what ifs. I definitely declined it without any hesitation whatsoever.

Other than that, had another interview. It was weird and oddly short. Not confident.

Aaand...I pet my dog. A lot. He's fluffy.

Not bad, concluding my 2.5 month work search with a nice enough offer that I'll likely accept. A bit concerned about the workload, but should be doable (famous last words)

Going great! Got back from a trip to Scotland last Friday, unpacked and repacked, and went to the second week of Pennsic the following day. I've had a fantastic time with my away from home experiences, but it's pretty dang satisfying now to be sitting on the couch just chilling with my partner and cat and nothing on the agenda.
