I want to create a better now playing radio for the Fedivers, or help create it, and I'm looking for feedbacks

the purpose: being able to share music quickly on the fedivers and also, discover music without relying on algorithm

For now music sent as toot on the fedivers like mastodon, with hashtags like #nowplaying, #np, are aggregated by online radios like
https://radio.eldritch.cafe/
We can then listen to these musics on a playlist
which is already really good

I'd like to find a way to make this better, first by integrating communities from lemmy and piefed, and share musics with genre

for example defining a list of hashtags like
#rock #classical #rap #pop #kpop #emo #metal #symphonicmetal

some genre would be included inside others like #symphonicmetal inside #metal but let's keep it simple at first:

just share a music with #np then #genre from a predefined list of genre and display it on a webUI

Of course this would be forbidden for AI, both for coding and for musics shared

Any ideas or suggestions for this ? Does it already exist ?

Have you heard about funkwhale?

There used to be something like this but it was shutdown. You might get in touch with the folks who ran it @radiofreefedi and see if they're interested in working on a new project.

Also Fediverse has an e at the end.

Nice. Adding songs works. But playing doesn't work in firefox-based browsers on Android. The player seems to have problems loading the audio from youtube.

It works in chromium-based browsers.

It's more like MTV than the radio, but @TIBtv@tv.theindiebeat.fm is somewhat similar
