Ah, my bad, I wasn't subbed to the original libertyhub; I meant as a subscriber here. Sorry I diminished the unpleasantness this brought to your community.

From an outsider’s perspective, this all seems like it was handled in a very reasonable and adult manner, which I very much appreciate. For folks (like me) on other instances, the link !libertyhub@lemmy.dbzer0.com should make it easier to join your new community.

Sorry gang — I try to keep most of my woso posting elsewhere, but this is the only place that seems appropriate for WAFCON, so…

Earlier in the day, Algeria handled Senegal 2-0. Marine Dafeur converted a late first-half penalty before Mélissa Bethi added the second to seal the win.

Morocco dominated Kenya 4-0 while Algeria shut out Senegal 2-0 on the first day of WAFCON 2026 play in Rabat.

You should post them! If you post something and get 0 upvotes, no actual bad things happen (ask me how I know)

If you expect end users to regularly generate components for endpoints neither you nor they control, I think htmx is a poor match for your use case. Can you generate a vanilla web component that uses fetch instead?

I’m always most concerned about moderator burnout, but If you’re willing to do it, I think it’d be an improvement.

After several weeks of tight margins and constant movement in the NSL standings, Week 13 saw the league’s in-form teams separate themselves from the pack. Ottawa Rapid FC, Montréal Roses FC, and defending champions Vancouver Rise FC all collected another three points, strengthening their cases as genuine title contenders.

For Vancouver, the past weekend may have been the most significant. Their victory over AFC Toronto lifted the Rise from fifth into third place, a reminder that the reigning champions are finding their rhythm at exactly the right time. With confidence growing and key players hitting form, they’ll now have one eye on the teams above them.

Meanwhile, Ottawa continue to set the standard. The Rapid have now won four straight matches, while Montréal’s disciplined performances have stretched their unbeaten run with a third consecutive victory. Every point is becoming more valuable as the season moves into its decisive stretch. The race at the top is beginning to intensify.

The goalkeeper timeout is the thing I worry about most as concerns the switch to quarters in soccer, so this seems like a good sign

“As part of the trial, if the game is stopped for a goalkeeper injury, the manager/head coach will be required to nominate an outfield player to leave the pitch immediately,” the governing bodies said in a joint statement. “The nominated player is required to remain off the field for a minimum of one minute after the restart of play.

New measures will require managers to nominate an outfield player to leave the pitch if the game is stopped for a goalkeeper injury

Love the aperatura/clausura format, but I prefer a single table

Liga Femenil will split the 18 sides into two groups of nine clubs. According to the league, two areas will determine each conference: elo rankings and geographical locations. The ‘Elo Rating System’ is defined as a “method for calculating the relative skill levels of players, originally designed for rating chess players. There will still be two seasons: the fall Apertura and the spring Clausura.

The league has rebranded and rearranged its competition format. Now, the domestic Mexican league will be known as Liga Femenil BBVA.

How much less do you think this would have cost, and how much more successful do you think the project would have been, if we just nationalized and built a factory, rather than requiring that the glove production and the hospitals that buy them turn a profit?

I finally got around to testing the “follow accounts” feature that was in the latest piefed and it’s awesome The pixelfed integration is very fun — following photographers feels very natural, and gets a lot of image content into my feed instead of just endless links. It does look like loops works too, but I could only see a privacy guides account so I didn’t follow it. I did manage to follow a couple of Bluesky accounts via bsky.brid.gy, but I can’t see any of the Twitter mirrors (like sportsbots.xyz), though I suspect that’s because a lot of those early Twitter shovels ended up on blocklists because they’re technically bots. My favorite follows are definitely publications — there’s a Graphic Policy account on sfba.social and a BBC news account from flipboard.com that fit in great in my feed. Definitely the biggest shortcoming is that there is no way to fetch an account that isn’t already known to your instance (I was hoping to get the Shiba every hour or the capybara every hour accounts, but alas), or a good way to search for accounts on larger instances, like mastodon.social, so I’m curious: what accounts have you found that are a good follow from piefed?

Edit: I couldn’t find a working rss shovel or an available ghost instance either, though both seem like they would be good follows.
