General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I've seen this photo used in memes since, and it's weird to think that the poor dude is probably just some random stock photo model who now became famous as the face of "the worst person you know" 😅
The other day I sat by the docks and played a song (singing and playing guitar). An elderly couple celebrating their 55 year anniversary sat next to me, and the man asked if he could record me playing a song.
I've gotten used to that by now, but what I didn't expect, was him then showing me the video (with audio), while I was singing another song. Once a guy found the original song I was playing on YT and played it on speaker to the rest of the audience and saying "this is the song he's playing now!". Not distracting at all...
Not really relevant, but the article made me think of it.
It’s shocking that this needs to even be said. I can’t believe there are functioning human adults (and in my experience it’s mostly older people) who are so unaware as to be ok with blasting tik toks at full volume.
Okay, but it's really important that they play Nigel Farage's videos at full volume because otherwise people nearby might be allowed to forget he exists for a few seconds.
Sounds like wetherspoons basic clientele tell to me.
Wetherspoons? An oasis of tranquility? Good one.
But I do agree with the phone loudspeaker thing.
