I'm more into nonograms now but I still enjoy playing Sudokus.

I installed a sudoku app on my phone the other day and played it a little bit, it was quite enjoyable.

Still do sudoku daily, I'm also hooked on the One Up puzzle here in c/dailygames, it's somewhat similar so have a try! :)

Not sure if it’s in android, but iOS has an app called Good Sudoku that’s probably my favorite way to play I’ve ever found (have been casually playing for 20ish years). It easily has the best highlighting that lets you quickly parse position for numbers.

I used to do a lot of sudoku in high school, then didn't for like 15 years, then started again recently with the daily games

There is a group called "Cracking the Cryptic" that released a sudoku version called "Miracle Sudoku". That one and their other sudoku versions are the best sudoku puzzles I've ever played.

Seriously, if you like sudoku and want a challenge, these are amazing.

I much prefer KenKen. It's very similar to sudoku, but involves arithmetic as part of the clues rather than just logic.

While I sometimes play the NY Times daily sudokus, I really like Shichi variant over at DKM Games.

Also, shout-out to the original version of Indigo Puzzles, before they lost part of their codebase. They had a fantastic puzzle-helper: not only did it tell you where to look if you got irredeemably stuck, but (if you wanted it to) it showed you why you were looking at that cell, how to solve it, and how to recognize and solve similar cases in the future. Which massively improved my game!

They also had a cool tool where you could enter your own Sudoku numbers and then play the game on their site and use their checker and solver tools if you got stuck. So not only could you use it to test your own homegrown sudokus, but it was a massive help solving stuck puzzles that were on paper or another site without hint/help tools. He also had hashi, kakuro and several other puzzles online to play with.

Regretfully, Alastair lost part of his code base and the arrival of children disrupted his attempts to recreate it (good for him!). He can still generate puzzles and solutions, though, so now he sells them in books and for syndication. I miss you Alastair!

Every night before bed. I’ve been doing that as a mental exercise routine ever since my second bout with Covid left me with a little brain fog. It really does help me with concentration and logical thinking.

I have an app called "Good Sudoku" and it's good because it has some quality of life helpers like auto notes, and it has lessons for teaching different strategies too.

I do. I've been playing Meowdoku, which has similar rules (the store describes it as a blend of Sudoku and Minesweeper).

I often play it when I'm having trouble sleeping. Once it starts getting hard I know I'm sleepy enough.
