At some point the general public will get AI fatigue

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 38 points 2 days ago

It already has.

The general public's opinion has never mattered.

[-] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 13 points 2 days ago

The general public buy the things that are made so they ultimately have the final say.

The fact that those are displayed and selling means they don't care and will buy it.

[-] mrmisses@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

Fairly certain most parents can't tell if it's AI

[-] Naich@piefed.world 4 points 2 days ago

A mate of mine certainly can't and keeps sending the sloppiest slop to me with comments that seem to suggest he thinks it's real.

[-] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works -1 points 2 days ago

I fucking wish it didn't, but unfortunately thr uneducated masses buy more products than those that spend hours researching before every purchase

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The uneducated masses still don't like AI slop. They are fatigued by it.

It still gets bought because a lot of people haven't learned to identify it but if you told them it's slop they'd probably change their minds. Yeah, they're not going to spend hours researching birthday cards, but that doesn't mean they don't have AI fatigue.

[-] NewNewAugustEast@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 days ago

Its hard to care frankly. Disposable greeting cards are looked at for ten seconds and then into the bin. Maybe its time to retire that practice instead.

[-] Saapas@piefed.zip -1 points 2 days ago

Yeah it's not like birthday cards were some high form of art before lol. A pic of cake and a dumb joke

[-] Absolute_Axoltl@feddit.uk 7 points 1 day ago

That's still an area where people can make a living designing them. Thin end of the wedge.

[-] Saapas@piefed.zip -1 points 1 day ago

I'm willing to bet it's 99,99% just some Shutterstock type slop that's used all over the world and the designers get paid shit.

As for AI destroying creative jobs, that's very very low on the totem pole for me

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

I really do hate this shit. There is no upside for humanity here. It's just one more thing gifting scumbags can use to degrade the quality of art on a global scale.

[-] 0li0li@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Look at those soulless eyes, and horrible background

[-] Zoomboingding@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Saw these in an uber in Ireland

It's nice to see that Larry is enjoying his retirement...

Is Italian brainrot distinct from other forms?

[-] NaibofTabr@infosec.pub 4 points 1 day ago

I'm not sure if I've been enlightened, or the opposite.

[-] kboy101222@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

I actually saw these in a toy shop in Italy. If they were in Italian, I might have actually grabbed one as a gag gift

[-] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Why is the font like something from a Star Wars poster?

[-] boaratio@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I have bad eyesight, but I seriously thought the shirt said "gort" upon first glance.

[-] Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

You can tell it's AI because of the fingers

[-] Chick0nPlayz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago
